Summary: The most entertaining book I have ever read!
Review: I cannot CANNOT!!! wait until the next installment in the series hits the shelf. This book had everything - non-stop action, hilarious dialogue, FOUR romances, and some very hot situations. I loved Wildcard - in the other books he's been seen as a complete screwup, not as the romantic hero of the story. I won't spoil it for anyone by giving away the storyline - but I don't think we have seen the last of Sam and Lys. I have to believe that Sam and Alyssa will get their Happy Ever After. (Hopefully in the next book - please Ms. Brockmann!) I loved the unexpected Molly/Jones story. If you want to read a book that will keep you up all night, this is it. Enjoy! Does anyone know when the next book will be released?

Summary: Totally Awesome
Review: I have just recently found Suzanne Brockman and the only thing I wish.......I found her books sooner. Her insight & writing style regarding the Navy SEAL's is AWESOME!!!! I have also allowed a few of the nurses I work with to borrow my books & now they have become huge fans.

Summary: suspense & romance - WOW
Review: I loved the book, can't wait to check out what else she has written. I loved the suspense and the how the different stories all tied together. I would love to know how Jones & Molly ended up but I love but all things need to be spelled out. Savannah & Kenny's story is great and I couldn't put it down.

Summary: Wildcard?
Review: I might have given this book a 5 if I hadn't been introduced to the hero, "Wildcard" Karmody in earlier Brockmann books. In Over the Edge, Wildcard lives up to his name, taking on a bar full of Marines and playing "I want you back" (I think)loudly all night long to annoy the woman who dumped him (and get the message across). He's also identified as a computer wiz. In this book, however, he morphs into the typical cookie-cutter hero type. His obsession with his ex is explained - she's an evil, manipulating user and the only girl he's ever had. Nothing wild about him now. He's just a sweetie, hurt because his second love appears to be using him, too. Technological failure (dead batteries and worn out airplanes, etc., leaves the couple stranded in the jungle. I kept waiting for Wildcard to cobble together a McGyver-like fix, but no such luck. I wish Brockmann, and other authors, would do more background research on computer geniuses before writing about them. Karmody is identified as a millionaire, from marketing his computer inventions, (I hope they weren't created on the Navy's time). However, I never saw even the tidyed-up Wildcard and old money heiress Savannah as at all compatible.
I realized it's "wild" behavior is easier to take in supporting characters, but It's disappointing to learn to love a character, faults and all, to look forward to learning more about him or her, and then be presented with a bland "admiral's inspection" version. I have not read Gone Too Far. Sam is delightful and a total jerk. I'm not sure if it wouldn't break my heart to have him go from a tiger to a house cat because he doesn't really fit the romance novel recipe for lead characters. Both Wildcard and Savannah and Sam and Alyssia are doomed by the romance formula that all loves last forever.

Summary: Did anyone else notice?
Review: I slogged through this book just wanting to see how the author would end the all too many story lines. Some of it was interesting. But I had a difficult time believing anything in the story after the mistake in chapter 4. Earlier the characters Ken and Savannah discuss (at Ken's house) the fact that he was a SEAL. He even accuses Savannah of being a "SEAL groupie". Then in chapter 4 Savannah "slips" and says he is a SEAl, and he gets mad! What was up with that? Am I the only one who noticed? Ms. Brockman needs to slow down a bit, not have so many story lines and try to keep her own story straight. This was one of the worst books I've ever wasted a weekend trip with!

Summary: Did anyone else notice?
Review: I will not admit to being a romance "fan", but I do like Brockmann's SEAL series. I generally find the characters in romance novels to be incredibly unrealistic, and Brockmann's characters are no exception, but in this particular series there are other aspects that keep me coming back.

Having said that, this particular book contained none of the ingredients that have drawn me to this series.

After the great plot in the last book with the hijacked airliner, this plot just took a dive so deep there might not be a recovery! And where were the rest of the team? The best part of the series is the dialogue exchanged among the team-mates! That was nonexistent in Out of Control! Max, Alyssa and Jules did not really have a purpose in this one. Brockmann seems to have added them in as an afterthought to prevent fans from questioning their absence.

The Molly/Jones story seemed unnecessary, but the WWII story was a little more engrossing than in Brockmann's other novels. Generally I just skim that part, but I actually read the WWII plotline in this one.

I wouldn't recommend this one to anybody. It was a waste of time. I hope Brockmann does better in future novels.

Summary: 4 1/2 stars - My new obsession
Review: Suzanne Brockmann and her Navy Seal books are my new obsession. I loved this one the most because I actually liked all of the multiple storylines. She usually does a main romance, a secondary one, the obligatory Sam/Alyssa angst (which i adore because I LOVE these two) and a WWII flashback. In some of her other books there is at least one storyline I skim through because I think it steals valuable time from the better stuff. Not this time. I loved all the storylines.

There are two reasons this one doesn't get 5 whole stars:

First is Ken Karmody. This character has really changed from the previous books. He wasn't very recognizeable as "Wildcard" Karmody. He seemed way too normal in this one.

Second, I know that Sam and Alyssa's path to true love is already tortuous and doesn't need any other help to be even more torturous, but I was disappointed in the Max/Alyssa let's pretend we're together shenanigans. It just seems so high school. I think the heart-failure quotient for the Sam/Alyssa fans would've been really high if Max/Alyssa had actually, really tried to be together. Temporarily, of course.

But enough of my armchair fan-fic.

Great book, great series. Total recommendation!

Summary: Another keeper from Suzanne Brockmann
Review: This book, like its predecessors, is fast-paced, sexy, and fun. It is the fourth in a series that has many readers hooked. The author has taken a minor character from her previous books, the obnoxious computer whiz SEAL Wildcard, and turned him into a terrific lead. The subplots are engaging and well-woven into the story. The book stands well on its own for those who haven't read the first three, but there is a continuing saga of two characters, Sam and Alyssa, that has built (and hooked readers) throughout the earlier books.

Summary: In my Top Five
Review: This is one of my favorite romance novels of all time. Kenny is adorable, with his smart ass sense of humor. I even think his insecurities are a good thing - do we really want to read about yet another rich, brilliant hero who thinks he's god's gift to the world in general? I think the WWII story-line is great, though I have to agree with one review's comment that Jules, Max and Alyssa seem a little bit lost in this one. But if you think of the series as a whole, it makes sense - things are set up in this book that come to fruition later.
Besides, this book is downright sexy. The scene in the shelter/lean-to never fails to give me a little boost.
