Summary: Struggling to finish...
Review: I haven't finished this book yet.. I'm not sure if I'll be able to. It really does drone on and on. I'm about 3/4 of the way through, and I find my attention drifting as I listen, then I have to rewind and listen again. I think the narrator is a little more to blame than the author, but the story isn't exactly fast-paced either. The best part so far is a detailed account of an SS officer's cowardly escape during the Russian invasion of Dresdin. Sadly, the tempo of that sub-storyline just isn't in the rest of the book.
