Summary: Another good book from Steinberg
Review: A master thief becomes involved in a top-secret government cover-up when he breaks into a safe, which he shouldn't. This cover-up has been secretly protected since WWII and the government will do anything to keep it that way. It deals with aliens being hidden from the outside world. The second part of the book is not as good as the first, but the action and Steinberg's writting make up for it. The ending may be a bit silly, but it's a good book.

Summary: GREAT
Review: I have never read any of the other books that Richard Steinberg has put out, but when I was done with this one. I had to loan it to my mother n law who had it done in three days! And she is very interested in getting his other books just like I am. I am usually a true crime reader but something about this book caught my eye, and I was up late every night reading it! A must book for everyone, it makes you think if what he has written about didn't really happen out there in the Nevada desert!

Summary: Great novel
Review: I've read all three books written by Steinbrg and I feel this is by far the best. Would like to see this made into a movie. I am looking forward to his next novel.

Summary: A rank amateur
Review: If this is not the worst book I've ever read, it ranks well up there. Poor writing combined with gadgetry does not a novel make.

Summary: More, More, PLEASE!!!
Review: My favorite Steinberg book (so far). I have all Ludlums, Morrell's, and Lustbaders early books, and have been looking for an author who I enjoy as much. Look no further. Mr Steinbergs security and intelligence background really show up in this book. If you like a strong "antihero" like myself, you will enjoy this book. As with all 3 of Steinbergs books, I hope for a sequel.

Also recommend: Steinbergs Gemini Man & 4 Phase Man and all Steve Altens books

Summary: Mediocre
Review: Nobody's Safe, a book ultimately centering around some mysterious secret that the U.S. government has been protecting at all costs since World War II, starts out with a bang. The first several chapters are brilliant, involving a master thief strutting his stuff while we can only gape in wonder. From there on, however, Nobody's Safe becomes confusing, distant, and poorly written -- all while remaining fast paced. To the very end, this book has few paragraphs longer than four or five sentences and will not turn you off with a lack of white space. However, be warned ... the secret for which you must wade through some three hundred pages to reach does NOT live up to its expectations.

On the whole, a good enough read that I tore straight through the first half. A bad enough read that I only skimmed the last half.

On a second note, I just noticed that this book appears to no longer be in print. Perhaps that reviews it better than any words I have used.

Summary: A Good Read
Review: Reading some of the negative reviews really made me stop and think, as I really enjoyed reading this book.

The only thing I can think of is that the people who didn't like this book were not into Sci-Fi. The cover makes it seem like its a straight-up suspense/thriller novel (which it is). But the latter part of the book adds Sci-Fi to the mix. Those who do not think favorably about Sci-Fi would most likely not enjoy it.

As a person who enjoys good Sci-Fi, I really enjoyed this book. There are some good/unexpected twists in the story as well. When I was done reading, I went looking for the sequel, and hoping they make a movie out of the story (it definately ends with a good setup for a series of stories).

If you are a Sci-Fi fan, get this book. If you are not, you most likely won't enjoy the last half of it. In any case, its good writing and a good story (better than I or the negative reviewers could write).

Summary: Nobody's Safe
Review: Unlike the other reviewers, I had read no previous books by Richard Steinberg and no reviews of his books. I'm an avid reader, reading many best sellers, medical thriller fiction, some mysteries - whatever strikes my fancy. The cover looked interesting and the description on the back read well, so I purchased the book. I thoroughly enjoyed and whole-heartedly recommend this book. Greg Picaro is a great character, a thief with redeeming qualities. I too didn't know who Joe and Max were, I have some thoughts in the matter, but definitely not whom I expected them to be. I definitely want to read Steinberg's other books.

Summary: The theif who stole a week.
Review: What a stinker! I loved Richard Steinberg's first novel, The Gemini Man. The concept was great and the writing was superb. His sophomore effort, however, leaves much to be desired. The story timeline jumps rapidly from one point in time to another a few months away. Apparently, everything that happens in between is insignificant and only needs be recapped. This "time-warp" effect slows down the pace of the novel in that the reader now has to read a "re-cap chapter". Also, the overall driving secret of the novel is not really that great. It's been done before. And done and done and done and done and done. Overall, this book is mediocre at best. Richard Steinberg should stick to covert-ops style books like The Gemini Man and The 4 Phase Man. Both of those novels were significantly better than this. I highly recommend those and highly recommend you stay away from Nobody's Safe.
