Review: This is one of my five year old daughter's favorite book to read and listen on tape. Wonderful story and illustrations, but I also highly recommend the audio version. Good accompaniment of music and excellent reader.

Review: This wonderful book is at the upper scale of the "picture book" variety, aimed at good beginning readers. The vibrant illustrations earned the author/illustrator the prestigeous Caldecot Honor Medal. Any child slightly beyond the "Dr. Seus" series will be delighted with "The Gardener". A story that will make readers and listeners smile,laugh and filled with joy. A rare treat in the overwhelming market of childrens books.*****
