Summary: Hilarious
Review: Another hilarious book for parents and children to enjoy together. Cronin's books will make you laugh out loud. A really great story that my 6 yr old enjoys being read and reading herself. Check out Giggle Giggle quack and Click Clack moo too!

Summary: Such a Great Book!
Review: I bought this book when it first came out and have shared it with so many people who love it! This book is a hoot! A little worm keeps a journal, sharing daily life from a worm's perspective and it's very funny - such as "Dad was busy eating the newspaper" and worries about fishing season starting or trying to make it across a playground blacktop with kids jumping rope. I just love this book! The illustrations are wonderful, but the text is excellent. Just one of the best books I own! Kids love it, too, of course!

Summary: The Cutest Book Ever!
Review: I read this to my 5 year old daughter and she laughed so hard that she could barely catch her breath! This book is hilarious and entertaining. My daughter adores it and so do I! In fact, I don't think I have ever enjoyed reading a children's book this much!

Summary: Funny book for older children
Review: It is a very funny book but for children 7 and older, I find myself explaining my 6 year old girl, almost every joke.

Summary: Humorous and different
Review: My 3 1/2 year old son loves this book, and so do his parents! I bet my son will think twice next time he wants to step on a worm. I really recommend this book because it's really funny; some of the things I have to explain to my son, in a humorous way of course, but that's part of our bonding while book-reading. It's a great book.

Summary: Great book!
Review: Someone gave us this book & I wasn't going to read it to my 2 year old yet; figured he wasn't old enough for it. He spotted it though & wanted to hear it. Now it's one of the books we have to read everyday. He loves it! I think it's pretty funny & clever too.

Summary: Why Play on Fears
Review: The author and illustrator are both terrific in imagination and talent. My only criticism is in the one part that plays on children's minds in a negative way. We are told that there are "three reasons" that it is good to be a worm - 1- you don't have to worry about tracking in mud (Fine - that's fun!); 2 - you don't have to take a bath (but kids love baths, until we start to instill this cultural idea that one should resist taking a bath ); and 3 - you don't have to go to the dentist (this is really annoying. Children are so afraid of dentists as it is, why make it worse) Surely there could be 2 other items for this scenerio besides dentists and baths. Just my opinion and, yes, it may be a cultural norm for kids views, but why botch an otherwise fun book. Not for me.

Summary: Too funny!!
Review: This book is hilarious! Each time we read it, we see something funny in the picture that we missed before. It also makes a young worm seem just like a "regular kid" aiding in children's compassion toward living things, even a small worm.
I definitely recommend this one.

Summary: Sly and funny
Review: This is a picture book that can and should be shared with EVERYONE. We gave this book to my daughter's 7th grade science teacher because they had studied and disected worms in class. I hope he is using it with his classes this year. Terrific humor and a gentle message about the importance of worms in the ecosystem make this book a wonderful read aloud for kids or adults. Harry Bliss's illustrations work perfectly with the sly, clever and funny writing.

Summary: Worms aren't so "oooo-yucky" after all
Review: This is an excellent book for both boys & girls. In a whimsical manner the reader/listeners are taken through a worm's world showing all from the trivial to the most important aspects of their lives. With his little red baseball cap, our subject says good morning to a line of ants one at a time taking him all day. He points out the dangers he faces and explains his most important jobs. What an excelent way to learn about such an unusual creature in our world. Good for story times for 5 & 6 year olds as well.
