Summary: Good But Could Have Been BETTER!
Review: As a supporter and fan of E. Lynn Harris, I looked forward to reading his latest release. Like many of the reviewers, I too was able to read it in one setting. I Njoyed most of the "trip" through the pages, and liked the fact that the author weaved in personalities of other characters from past books, thus making the lives of Basil and Yancy more real as recollections of past situations arose. Short chapters are one thing, but these were choppy! Of all the author's novels, Not a Day...is NOT one of his best, which is a bit disappointing, because up until this point, his writing has always gotten better. One thing for sure, there are enuf hints in this work that leads the reader to believe that there is MORE TO COME. Maybe Basil's "lane changing" will cause him to sho nuff wreck!!!??? Not A Day Goes By is the selection for our September book club discussion. I can hardly wait to hear what my fellow reading sistah's have to say...

Summary: MOFOS ARE BACK!
Review: Not A Day Goes By Is A Must Read!

I've been a fan of E.Lynn Harris' since the debut novel of Invisible Life and have read every book in the series. E. Lynn remains a consistently good writer! Not A Day Goes By is another page turner and as such I read the book in one sitting. The story is well-crafted with a good storyline; realistic and dimensional characters; vivid imagery and shocking plot twist and turns. Basil and Yancey are back to put on the wedding of the century. But just before the big day secrets and deception rear their ugly heads. Harris begins Chapter One with Basil comtemplating the upcoming wedding day and whether or not he's making the right decision. From there you're hooked and must read the rest of the book to find out why. Not A Day Goes By has the Classic Recipe for a delicious book: love, sex, romance, deception, raw ambition and intrigue. Add to it a pinch of lust, trust, betrayal, revenge, and a sprinkle of the sport's and entertainment industry. Mix it all together and you have all of the necessary ingredients. Not A Day Goes By is prepared with all of the plot twists, memorable characters and shocking surprises that keep one coming back to an E. Lynn book.

Summary: Entertaining and provocative!
Review: This is the first E. Lynn Harris novel I have ever read. Let me tell you that it will not be the last. His sharp writing, precise wit and incredible narration are one of the best I have recently read. I love the story of ex-football player turned sports agent John "Basil" Henderson and up-and-coming, ego-is-larger-than-actual-fame Broadway star Yancey Harrington Braxton. Their love story illustrates how childhood traumas could affect adult relationships. I love John's character; he is a very earnest and very confused man. In fact, all of the characters are earnest and real. I have met my fair share of Basils or Yanceys or Avas (Yancey's wayward mother) in life. This is a great novel. E. Lynn Harris is a very talented contemporary writer. I strongly recommend that you give this book a whirl.

Summary: Whoa!
Review: This was my first E. Lynn Harris book. His strength is in how nicely his books flow. The details and the storyline moves fast and makes for a good read. I will read more of his books. I think it's worth reading. His story of modern relationships and sexual confusion is ...like whoa! It's interesting...to say the least!

Review: Well, Not a Day Goes By, is the first book I have read by E. Lynn Harris. At first when I browse through the gazillion books on the shelf in the bookstore, it just somehow dragged my attention to it. It didn't fail my expectations, not at all instead it exceeded, I have to say Not A Day Goes By was one AwEsOme, ExOtiC book. E. Lynn Harris definitely knows how to draw the readers' attentions; it was such a page-turner, probably from how he played with the story line using his one of a kind style. I also loved the way that he used short chapters, giving me some time to breath from this fast-pasted story, I especially like how he kept on switching views from the two main characters between chapters. The book has this extraordinary plot, yet somehow seemed pretty real to me. The characters he created were awesome, with each individuals having such unique personalities, I just have to say, how could Ava be like that.... ~#@#$! So wicked!!! When I started the book, I didn't really think I would like Basil, but in the end, I LOvE him, an ex-football player, who is gorgeous, bisexual; "switching lanes." It was just great, and I couldn't wait to get all his other novels. I would recommend this book to anyone, EnjOy~
