Summary: It was fair.
Review: At school right now we are having a R.A.P. class and we have to read this. It was okay, kinda freaky and wierd. The reason why I would give it 3 stars is because I thought the murders didn't really make sense. When the kids Grandpa (or whoever) died it didn't really explain why the kid was inside a closet sleeping. Was he(or should I say she)scared? He had to be because if he didn't know the murder was going on he would've been deaf. The murder that I thought was interesting was when that one girls birthday party got flooded.

Summary: The Dollhouse Murders
Review: Amy Treloar, a 13 year old girl, has the task of looking after her mentally disabled sister, Louann, every day after school. When Louann ruins a shopping trip with Amy and her new friend Ellen, Amy has a confrontation with her mother that results in Amy's running away from home. While visiting her aunt Clare in her great-grandparents' old farmhouse, Amy discovers an old dollhouse in the attic--an exact replica of the house they are staying in. When mysterious lights turn on and the dolls begin to move around by themselves, Amy wonders what could be causing it. Her curiousity eventually leads her to uncover a long-buried family secret.

The Dollhouse Murders is an excellent supernatural mystery aimed at younger readers. Wright manages to insert just the right amount of suspense and creepiness without being too over-the-top or frightening. The importance of strong family relationships is a major theme in the story; an emphasis is placed on the relationship between sisters Amy and Louann in particular. Wright conveys Amy's frustration with her sister's condition as well as Louann's desire to be accepted. The dollhouse mystery helps Amy and Louann to grow closer together and for Amy to finally accept her sister as she is. Highly recommended.

Summary: The Dollhouse Murders
Review: Betty Ren Wright's The Dollhouse Murders is a creepy, exciting book about a murder that took place 30 years ago. Amy needs a break from her brain damaged sister, so she goes to stay with her moody aunt, just outside of Claiborne. Little did she know her great grandparents were murdered in the very house she's sleeping in.
In the attic is a precious doll house that is an exact replica of the house in which she's staying. This dollhouse is trying to tell a secret about the night of the murders. At night, the dolls move into different positions, relating to the murder. It's up to brave little Amy and her loyal friend Ellen to solve the mystery of the death of Amy's great grandparents.
I think this is a great book and I recommend everyone to read it.

Summary: The Dollhouse Murders
Review: Do you have dolls that come to life? Amy Treloar does. As you read The Dollhouse Murders by Betty Ren Wright, you will learn about how Amy's great-grandparents were murdered. In this horror book you will learn that it is because of Amy's brain-damaged sister that she moves in with her Aunt Claire and is eager to find out how her great-grandparents died.
Betty Ren Wright also wrote Cristina's Ghost, A Ghost In The House, and A Ghost Beneath Our Feet. This book is like Time Windows. The theme of book is to mind your own business or you might get in trouble.
This book creates a lot of suspense. However if you get really into the book and pay attention to it you'll find out that it gives you clues on who killed the grandparents. If you are a young girl (7 and under) with a dollhouse you may get scared, but if you are brave and like scary stories you might like it.
I think everyone should read it.
Will you have to find out how your great-grandparents died, through a dollhouse?

Summary: fun, scary mystery
Review: I read this at 12 and 30 years old and really liked it both times.
BRW is a good writer & the story flows smoothly. Under 200 pages,
it doesn't have a lot of filler material. Every chapter is
crucial to the story unfolding.

I wish there was a little more character development for Amy and Ellen and less of Louann, but you can't have it all.

Summary: I got this for Christmas the first year it was published
Review: I still have that old tattered scholastic book. I have found myself returning to it when stages of writer's block have come on. It's a definite must-read for anyone hoping to become a good YA/children's mystery writer.

After reading it Christmas night, I had to sleep with the lights on...and refused to move from my bed until daybreak. I liked it so much I read it several times and wrote a few book reports on it.

As an avid mystery reader, I have to admit that this should be ranked as a classic as well. And, yes, my kids will be reading this when they are older.

Summary: had to read it for school but still really liked it
Review: In the beginning it takes place in a town called Claiborne. Later in the story the setting moves to the countryside near Claiborne where Amy's Aunt Clare lives in an old house. Amy, the main character, feels like her parents treat her unfairly, so she runs away to her Aunt Clare's house. At Aunt Clare's house Amy notices that dolls in a dollhouse move mysteriously all by themselves. The dollhouse is a miniature copy of her Aunt's house. But nobody believes Amy about the dolls, except her sister Luanne who also sees them move. It's like the dolls are trying to show the girls how their grandparents were killed a long time ago. What's not to like about the book! It kept me guessing right up to the end. I also liked that it was a mystery but was not full of violence and lots of people dying. It was also interesting to see how the characters change in the story. In the beginning of the book some people expect Amy just to play with her sister and other people understand that it's hard for her. Amy is frustrated. By the end of the book, Amy learns to appreciate her sister and her mom.

Summary: A Bad Book
Review: The Dollhouse Murders is an interesting but flawed look at the workings of modern forensics. Anyone who is curious about how a crime scene is dealt with will certainly find lots of material here that is new and interesting.
There are at least three flaws in the book, however. The first is right on the front cover. Instead of six crimes, there are only four. Two of the investigations were not murders.
There are two other errors, but I will leave it to the reader to find them. One is in the bakery robbery scene and the other is in the hotel invastigation. Good luck!
