Summary: Not her best, but still my favorite author
Review: Having read all of MHC's books, it is difficult to write a so-so review. Overall the book was good, but not as good as her previous novels. I often got the male reunion characters confused and had to re-read the book jacket to keep them straight. This doesn't change the fact that she is still my favorite author and I will continue to read all her future books.

Summary: Another disappointing book by Clark!
Review: Heard the taped version of NIGHTTIME IS MY TIME by Mary Higgins Clark . . . I remember saying to myself a few years ago that I was done reading Clark's mysteries . . . they were all too similar, and I tended to feel very little for any of her characters . . . yet since this was not a book, per se, I decided to give it a listen instead . . . and was disappointed having done so.
NIGHTTIME is the story of a college dean who returns to her hometown to attend a 20-year reunion of Stonecroft Academy alumni . . . there's only one problem: five of her classmates have come to a sudden, mysterious end . . . what's more, there's a taunting, anonymous fax referring to the dean's daughter--a child she had given up for adoption 20 years ago.
The plot rambled, and there were far too many characters to hold my interest . . . none were particularly well drawn, either . . . by the time the ending finally came around, I vowed to myself
that this was it now for both written AND taped books by Clark.

Summary: Deadly Class Reunion
Review: I am a fan of Mary Higgins Clark (MHC) so any book that she writes is always a treat. This book is no exception. The book revolves around Jean Sheridan who is attending a class reunion and finds that most of the girls that she went to school with have died under mysterious circumstances. Not only does she have to worry about one of her classmate (Laura) who has disappeared from the reunion but someone is sending Jean threatening notes regarding her daughter, which she gave up for adoption when she graduated from Stonecraft Academy. This book is a little bit different in that MHC gives us many suspects (5 or 6). During this story you are continually trying to guess which of the former classmate is threatening Jean and her daughter. I only gave the book 4 stars because when the psycho is finally unveiled you are left wondering why was he so obsessed with Jean. Throughtout the story MHC gives us a little bit of what is going on in his head and why he is "loco" but you kinda expect a confrontation with the killer and Jean, who was really his target all along. I enjoyed the book very much but I just wanted the ending to have more of an impact.

Review: I found it difficult to follow the introduction of so many characters in the beginning. MHC's books usually crab me from the first page. This one took a while, but is still worth reading. My rating of 3 stars is aimed at rating her other novels to this one. It is easily a 4 or 5 star compared to some other authors I've encountered.

Summary: It could've been better
Review: MHC has been entertaining us for many years, but this one is not nearly as good as her other work. Instead, read LUST OF THE FLESH by Beverly Rolyat. It reminds me of some of Sidney Sheldon's earlier work. It's a compelling, riveting eye-opener that's fast paced and enlightening. A story about a district attorney who gets caught up in a web of deception and lies, betrayal, murder, mystery, suspense, lust, romance and sex galore! An enlightening novel through and through. Is he really the biological father of his ex-wife's promiscuous teenage daughter's infant son? Or has he been set up? Scandalous! Read and find out. You'll enjoy it. Happy reading.

Summary: The Price of Rejection
Review: Nighttime Is My Time is a murder mystery built around the premise that someone is killing a number of women who attended Stonecroft Academy twenty years before. A reunion brings the classmates back together, and the killings continue. The classmates have many secrets that date back to high school days . . . including a deep sense of rejection by one person who felt humiliated by a group of female friends in the class.
The book explores some interesting themes along the way, including how a mother and daughter who have been separated since the daughter was given up for adoption might relate to one another when they next meet. I also enjoyed the theme of how much we can grow beyond our personalities at the time when we are in high school.
The mystery itself isn't quite developed enough to be appealing. The book spends much too much time spreading red herrings that don't really camouflage the villain well enough. The book should have been edited down, and the villain should have been made less obvious so there would be a bit of a mystery.
I would recommend this book for someone who's going to a high school reunion. That's why I picked it up. It gave me lots of food for thought before I arrived at my recent reunion of the Pacific High School class of 1964 in San Bernardino, California.
If you are not going to a class reunion soon, you can safely skip this book.

Summary: MHC is a great author!
Review: This book is by far her best book to date. When I am not working I read Mary Higgins Clark or Stephen King both are my favorite authors. As is a new author M. Webb which her book deals with my profession. I work in a domestic abuse shelter.
