Review: Dr. Temes wrote what I believe to be the best book ever written for the consumer who wishes to consider hypnosis or hypnotherapy as a modality for health care or self-improvement!Her book is both comprehensive and easy to understand, a very rare combination to be found in any book; and it is filled with valuable information for anyone considering investing in hypnosis or hypnotherapy. While the author has very credible scientific credentials and professional experience, her information is served to the reader in an objective manner, with the goal of helping the consumer to make an informed choice. She empowers the consumer with important information to help those who desire hypnosis or hypnotherapy to choose wisely, and does so without bias either for or against "lay hypnotists" who lack academic credentials. Whether you are a consumer considering hypnotherapy, a student of hypnosis, OR a practicing professional, this is a "must read" book. In presenting this important information, Roberta Temes has provided a GREAT SERVICE to the general public! Roy Hunter M.S.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This idiot can understand this book Review: I am a very busy health professional and have limited time to read material that is so technical that you must work your way slowly through it. Dr Teemes is my kind of writer. She gets the message across is a simple but well thought out manner. I may try some self hypnosis now.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Introduction to Hypnosis Review: If you don't know much about hypnosis, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hypnosis is a great introduction to self-hypnosis and choosing a hypnotist or hypnotherapist. The author dispels many common myths and provides a good historical overview. The portions of the book on self-hypnosis probably aren't comprehensive enough to allow for mastery, but they are certainly a good beginning. The strongest parts of the book deal with addressing common fears associated with being subjected to hypnosis. Like all Idiot's Guides, it is a pleasant and fast-moving book to read...quite enjoyable.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent book for the lay reader! Review: This book is superb for the average reader, because it tells so much about hypnosis. It does not seem to be intended to teach a lay person HOW to be a hypnotherapist, because for that one has to first be a qualified health professional, such as a psychologist or a physician. So, if one wants to learn a lot ABOUT hypnosis, read this book.
