Rating: Summary: Mama Do You Love Me? Review: This book is about letting your children konw that no matter what you will always love them. This book gives examples of a child's worst behavior & because he/she has been bad that mama will no longer love the child. She shares that she will be angry, mad, or even sad, but she will never stop loving the child. This is a great book for parents going through disipline struggles or feeling guilty when you do need to discipline that the child feels unloved.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This short story is set among the Inuit. A mother assures her daughter that she will be loved until the "puffin howls at the moon" and the "umiak flies into the darkness" even if the daughter breaks the ptarmigan eggs, puts lemmings in her mukluks or turns into a polar bear who makes her mother cry. The mother realistically acknowledges that she might have other feelings as well (disappointment, anger, fear) but that she will always love her daughter no matter what. The prose in this book is so well written that it reads like poetry. The illustrations do a wonderful job of showing readers the meanings of the unfamiliar words. And the book has been edited for cultural accuracy as well as literary value. This book is a favorite in our family for those reasons, and I recommend it as a truly excellent story as well.
