Rating: Summary: Not an average murder mystery Review: I found this book to be incredibly intriguing. Simons has an incredible ability to create true, complex female characters with little or no cliche attached. The interworkings of this novel are incredibly believable, and I found that the elements of fate and privilege were presented exquisitely. The "what ifs" ran through my head for days after reading this book! Anyone enjoying intelligent mystery and fiction would appreciate Red Leaves. I'm going to read it again
Rating: Summary: Great surprise Review: I had never heard of this author before, but once I started reading "Red Leaves," I could not put it down. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The characters were so believable, they actually seemed to exist while I was reading the book. I hope to see more books by this author.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Paullina Simons touches everyone with her books. Review: I loved: "Tully". Red Leaves is an unbelievably great book. Ms. Simon's characters are taken from life. This particular novel is set at college, about four friends and the choices they make. The novel is shocking, sad and achingly funny. Headlines ripped from today's real world.
Rating: Summary: Cornwallesque! Review: I overheard a book store employee recommending this novelto a customer, saying it was similar to Patricia Cornwall's work. Why not give it a try? It turns out to be an excellent page-turner about the lives of four Dartmouth College students and the tragedy that unfolds. You feel the green and white of the Dartmouth campus in the dead of winter. The author's setting the table of the surroundings is at a high level. If you're looking for something a bit different, give Red Leaves a read.
Rating: Summary: Excellent To The Core Review: If you've read Tully and like it,then you'll definitely cherish this lovely book by Paullina Simons. I like the way she gets her readers so emotionally involved with the characters. These youngsters in Red Leaves, Kristina, Constance, Albert and Jim felt like my family, or they could have been my children for that matter. I felt especially close to Kristina, the main character as I felt her pain and her cold lonliness. With a cleverly crafted detective storyline, it has the capacity to keep you up all night long until you've turned the last page. After you've turned that last page, you can't get those characters out of your head. If you haven't bought it yet........get it.......it's worth every penny. Thanks Ms Simons
Rating: Summary: Once I started to read Red Leaves - I had to finish it! Review: Red Leaves, by Paullina Simons is a fantastic mystery that you just can"t stop reading. Not only is the author a great writer who some how peaks your interest on the first page, she keeps it up until the last page, when it all comes together. A great story, and another interesting fact is that the author was very familier with lots of the facts relating to the story and the places it visits. I was in many places described in the book and wondered how she knew so much about so many places. Also I often try to read (murder) novels by men as I had felt that women authors often lean towards women readers. Not Simons - she gets all of us. Great story. I have just purchassed her newest book Eleven Hours and so far it is as great as I remember Red Leaves, and I can't wait to get off this damned Webb Page so I can get out on my deck and get into it and finish it this weekend.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant!!! Review: This is a real page turner that I just couldn't put down, and one of the best books I've ever read. Four close friends attending Dartmouth University are the main characters of the story. They play and work together. They're together constantly. When one of them winds up dead the mystery begins with many twists and turns. The college years are one of the most exciting times, but according to this book they can also be one of the most deadly times.
