Rating: Summary: Good, but.... Review: I have read over half of Sheldon's novels, and I must say that this one was highly disappointing. It tells the story of Elizabeth, a beautiful woman who has recently inherited a company worth millions of dollars. She can't decide whether she wants to keep the company going, or sell it and take the money. Unfortunately for her, someone who is salivating over the money they could get from the company are impatiently awaiting the company to be sold and get their share. Who it is and what lengths they'll go to get it is what holds the reader. This book is more along the lines of The Stars Shine Down than such greats as If Tomorrow Comes and The Other Side Of Midnight. It is entertaining and gripping enough to say the book was good, but it's missing the magic other books have. Elizabeth doesn't have the charisma, street smarts, or assertive attitude that you expect from a Sheldon heroine. Also, it takes a lot of time to get engrossed into the plot because it is full of pointless flashbacks and details (what purpose does knowing Elizabeth's sexual history serve?) I can't say this book is bad, but it isn't good either.
Rating: Summary: great read about family, betrayal, romance, and mystery Review: I love this book so much it has been a keeper on my shelves for eighteen years. It has a few too many flashbacks in the beginning, but once you get into the story it is dynamite. I love the on-going story, the characters, and the fast-pace of the plot.
Rating: Summary: "Captivating! I didn't put it down until I finished it!" Review: One of Sidney Sheldon's best novels. Talk about betrayal and family relationships..... If you're a Sidney Sheldon fan, it's a must-read book. You won't regret it..
Rating: Summary: Still haven't read this book? And you say you love reading!! Review: This is a magnum-opus by Sheldon. The author is very much successful in keeping the interest of the reader throughout the book. It's a must read piece.
