Summary: A Very Cool And Scary Book!
Review: Stranger With My Face
Lois Duncan
A Pandey
Period - 5

Lois Duncan did a great job with this book. This book is really exciting and scary. Laurie is a 17 year old girl who lives on Brighton Island, she has a perfect life so far she has a cool boyfriend, a great family and good friends. Unfortunately she doesn't know that her identical twin sister Lia wants her body. Laurie and Lia were twin sisters and they were exactly identical except Lurie was good and Lia was evil. Lia tried to get into Laurie's body and take control by Astral Projection. Lia got into Laurie's body and started taking over her life, she hurt her best friend also her boyfriend. Laurie is now scared of losing her body.
I really liked the part when Laurie is being accused of something's such as, when she was home in her bed her boyfriend sweared he saw her at the beach with another guy. Even her parents saw her coming back and forth in the house when she was in school. She gets really mad and things just get bad for her. Its even more scarier when Laurie starts believing that someone came in her room and just left. When she was about to go to sleep she was frowning in the mirror but her reflection was smiling. I liked the quote when her boyfriend says, "During the band intermission, I went outside to get some air. The moon was bright, and i saw you." I like this quote because it gets the story started.
The quote which really freaked me out was by Lia, "Good night, Laurie. Good night and good bye." This quote was really scary and cool. Laurie was really intimidated by Lia, Lia was ruining Laurie's body by getting into it and doing bad deeds so it looks like Laurie did it. This book is really cool and very exciting and always keeps you want to read more.
My favorite part of the book was when Lia or Laurie did the Astral Projection. It was very cool and scary because you get out of your body and go to someone else's. My other favorite part of the book was when Laurie was happy that her and Gordon didn't break up, but she was scared and when she looked in the mirror she had a frown but her reflection was smiling. That is really scary. I enjoyed this book and will give it a 4 star.

Summary: Mystery/ Horror Reader
Review: The title of the book that I read was Stranger With My Face, written by Lois Duncan. This is a very good fiction book that I recommend for older teenagers who like the kind of books that deal with mysterious adventures. This book is about a girl named Laurie Stratton who has a very simple, enjoyable life until she finds out many things from her past. Laurie always feels like someone is watching her and when all of Laurie's friends and family claim that they see her places, when she's actually not there, she begins to question what is going on in her life. Her simple, enjoyable life suddenly goes down the drain when she finds out that this identical person that is watching her, is really trying to take over her life. She finds out that this person isn't just anybody, but it's her identical twin sister, Lia, that was separated from her at birth. Laurie and Lia have the exact same physical appearances but the only thing that is different about the two of them is that Lia is a very evil person. Lia only appears in spirit and not in her actual solid body. She uses astral projection to have her spirit leave her body and she becomes Laurie in spirit then. Her goal is to take over Laurie's life and turn it around for the worse. Lia begins to appear in not only Laurie's life but in her friends and families' lives too. She knocks Laurie's best friend Helen unconscious and almost kills Laurie's boyfriend Jeff. With all of the things that Lia is doing to Laurie's life, she becomes more curious to see what Lia's life is like, so she too starts using astral projection to get a glimpse at Lia's life. When Laurie starts using astral projection she realizes that there is many dangers to using it and terrible things begin to happen to her, and this is when her life begins to take a turn for the worse.
I would give this book a rating of four stars out of five stars just because both the beginning and the end of the book could have been a little more interesting. The plot was very, very interesting to the point where I couldn't put the book down! I recommend this book to many teenagers and this is an excellent mystery, horror book.
