Rating: Summary: The Heiress Bride Review: Coulter rounded out the Bride trilogy in a very good way. If you read the books in order, you have watched Sinjun grow. Now, in The Heiress Bride, she is all grown up and has fallen in love. Take a ride with Coulter on the rollercoaster of dispair and delight that she has created for Sinjun. The bad, along with the good, makes this book a delightful, although emotionally draining, read that I will enjoy for many years to come.
Rating: Summary: Great characters and situations, but empty story Review: I love Sinjun and I really liked Colin as characters.Colin's children and his sister-in-law were good characters too.But somehow from CC's outline of the book to the fully written thing it just fell apart. As a whole, the book has all the makings of a funny and charming novel but there are so many holes in it when you break it down.First-I think CC might have some sort of prediliction for forced sex because not only was it forced, but it was forced three times in a row.it's like most of her male characters know how to control themselves with mistresses but with wives they can't. Second-the ghost thing was a little unneccesary but it was thrown in because of the Sherbrooke ghost thing in the previous books.I enjoyed the novel but I only see myself reading it once. To me, CC's only consistent regency historical trilogy was the Legacy Trilogy. The stories were god,the characters were great and the pacing and mystery were excellent.CC's Medieval,Viking and stand-alone regencies are her only bright spots in my bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I was disappointed with this book. It was my first and probably last Catherine Coulter book. I was disgusted with the "love" scenes since there was very little LOVE or any other tender emotion in them. (Primarily the first one) The story line was decent, but the relationship between Sinjun & Colin never developed very well and should've gotten more attention from the author.
Rating: Summary: Still quite good despite disastrous wedding night Review: Many women have spotted the man of their dreams across a crowded room, and knew they were gazing at their destiny. Sinjun Sherbrooke was no exception. She saw Colin Kinross, the Scottish earl of Ashburnham, across the crowded dance floor of a London ballroom, and couldn't stop looking at him. He was simply the most beautiful man she had ever seen.At a later London event she searches him out, and this time overhears him telling a friend about his desperate financial situation, and how he needs to marry an heiress to save his home and his people. Sinjun quite boldly walks up to Colin and introduces herself as the heiress that she is, and suggests he could marry her. Colin is not sure how to react to such forwardness and doubts her identity. Upon meeting her brother Douglas, and sister-in-law Alex, he comes to realize she was truthful in her introduction. After someone sends an anonymous letter to Douglas accusing Colin of murdering his first wife, Douglas postpones the wedding until the matter can be investigated. But Sinjun's love for Colin prompts her to run off with him and elope. Her new home is an old castle in Scotland, but many secrets await her arrival, and she'll need every ounce of her strength and determination to weather all the upcoming obstacles. Her biggest obstacle may be keeping her husband with her long enough to win his heart. This is the third installment in the Bride Trilogy, and overall I did enjoy this story. After reading the first two books in this series, I couldn't wait to read about Sinjun, because she was such a great character growing up. She's now nineteen, and during the first few chapters, I really felt I was reading about the spunky, forthright Sinjun who was so endearing in the previous books. Up to a point, the story was funny and refreshing, because she was the aggressor and had chased Colin. Plus the dialogue was witty; mostly due to the outrageous things she would say to him. Then we come to their wedding night, and this is where I began to have some misgivings about this book. I don't usually find myself thinking the hero raped the heroine. I didn't think that in the first two novels, when other reviewers did. However, their wedding night consisted of Colin "taking her" three times. The first two times were painful for her, but occurred in rapid succession, so I was only mildly bothered by this. But when he "took her" the third time, and she was uncooperative and basically crying due to the pain, that was over the top for me. It was hard to view him as a tender and loving man, after he had basically used her without thought to her feelings, even though he apologized to her several times. Also, Sinjun's character seemed to change after this, and the humor in the story just wasn't that strong anymore. Not to say that I didn't enjoy the rest of the book, but the wedding night disaster remained in my mind throughout the rest of the story. I really don't understand why the heroine has to suffer in the marriage bed. I read romances for enjoyment and escape. It's not enjoyment I feel when I read about forced sex. The other two books of this series, "The Sherbrooke Bride", and "The Hellion Bride" also contain forced sex themes, although for me, it was not between the hero and heroine in these instances. The thing is, Ms. Coulter is a talented writer, and unfortunately I am not sure I will read her anymore, past the Scottish Bride, which I've already bought. I only deducted one star from my rating due to the forced sex issue, because the remainder of the story is quite good. I would still recommend this book, as long as you're aware of, and can get past the wedding night, to enjoy the rest of the story.
Rating: Summary: An Overall Pleasing Novel Review: The Bride series is one of Catherine Coulter's better efforts. Although I enjoy her books for the most part, I find that many of her historical novels have stilted dialogue and that she tries too hard to add humor. Luckily, this book doesn't suffer much from either of those two problems. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star is that about half-way through the novel, the dialogue does become a little wooden.
Rating: Summary: the best romantic story i've ever read Review: The story is not only about romance but its also very funny, full of interesting people. Sinjun the heiress bride will definitely be one of your most favorite characters. She is very innocent and quite lovely, you may think her to be a fragile little heiress but you'll be fooled by her appearance. And let's not forget her handsome husband whom was loved by everyone. Hope you will enjoy The Heiress as i enjoyed it. And don't forget The Hellion Bride and Sherbrooke Bride which I also bought after reading The Heiress bride.
Rating: Summary: Sinjun Abused Review: There was enough redemption and entertainment in the first 2 books to have me reading the third, but what a way for Sinjun to go! I liked Sinjun, I liked Colin, the Scottish adventure and running away from the overprotective brothers is great... So why does our Strong and Manly hero have to ruin it all by subjugating the eager and talented Sinjun to HORRIBLE sex. And later in the book when Sinjun decides to "let" her husband hurt her, it's DISGUSTING. Having a man force sex on a woman is NOT romantic! Rewrite the book to take out the rape and I would love it.
Rating: Summary: The Heiress Bride Review: This book was a very pleasant read. I have always loved Sinjun and watched her since the first book. In this book she was nineteen and fell in love with Colin, a Scottish earl. She was so daring that she managed an elopement with him to his castle in Scotland where she found herself an unwanted stepmom of his children she had not known of their existence before. I secretly prayed for her to help her untangle all the problems she faced. Hot love scenes which will set you aflame are here and there throughout the book. I found myself roar with laughter many times as Ms.Coulter is always adept in adding sense of humor to her romances.

Rating: Summary: "original" read, quite sweet Review: This is my first Coulter novel .... in three words, Sinjun and Colin's story is: imaginative, original, and funny; this combination makes for a 'good' read. However, I feel that there was just too much going on ... Sinjun and Colin seemed to go from "scrap to scrap" (brother issue/mysterious killer issue/children issue/hero-heroine issues ... etc); personally, I believe that fewer 'issues' would have made this better .... it could have been a shorter novel. But overall, Coulter has a lovely writing style which I enjoyed. On the positive, Coulter's hero and heroine did not have a love/hate relationship (which I cannot stand .... not romantic at all!)and my personal rating of this book is: original read, quite sweet
