Summary: My Second Favorite Dirk Pitt Book
Review: This is one of my favorite books of all time. It is very long, but the pages fly by when you are reading it. The only Dirk Pitt book I like better is Treasure. This story has a great plot and is very exciting and interesting. If you've never read a Dirk Pitt book before you are missing out. The stories go by so fast. Dirk Pitt is a cross between James Bond and Indiana Jones. Dirk also has the best sidekick (Al Giordino) and boss (Admiral James Sandecker) of any other book. You need to buy this book today along with all other Clive Cussler books.

Review: This is only the second book I've read by Clive Cussler (the other one being RAISE THE TITANIC) and I'd say this one is a lot better. I really don't see how this couldn't be his best overall. This had everything. From mystery to adventure to suspense. It has it all. Mainly it's about Dirk Pitt, Al Giordino, and some other character that I can't remember exactly. They're trying to find this contamination in the ocean which could kill off everything on this earth in a very short time. That's the basic plot. However, their are TONS of other tie-ins. Everything from the gold-mining cave to Al and Dirk's adventure through the Sahara desert to a sunken Civil war ship in Africa. Storytelling doesn't get much better than this. You have to read this if you like really good and fun books.

Summary: Dirk vs. the desert
Review: This is possibly my most favorite Dirk Pitt Adventure. Is it possible that Abraham Lincoln was actually kidnapped by the Confederate Army? Cussler makes you wonder if it could have happened...just maybe. I was thoroughly entertained throughout this book - the villians were excellent, Cussler made a personal appearance, I loved the way Kitty Mannock came into the equation, and the last stand at the fort was exceptionally face-paced. Can Dirk and Al save the world's seas from an environmental catastrophe and still have time to save the girt? Of course! And that's what makes it so much fun.

Summary: American History the way you WISH it really was!!!
Review: Unbelievably wonderful! I loved every page. I was wary at first, having never read a Cussler book before and only picking up the book after viewing the trailer for the upcoming movie. But I have to say WOW - what a great read. The plot starts with several different threads, then weaves each together to form the fabric of the story, and eventually ties off each fringe event for a decorative finish. I couldn't put it down. Took me two nights and most of a rainy Sunday to finish, but only cause I HAD to put the book down (you know a kid has to eat and laundry has to get done...). I loved the incorporation of Historical figures (I'm a sucker for the Civil War era), it just made me wish that some of our past was really so fantastic. If it were, I'm certain I would have been a History major in college. I had to wait till this weekend to get another Cussler book, but as of this morning I'm only 70 pages from the end of Atlantis Found. Once I finish this one, I'm heading for Valhalla Rising or Treasure - hmmmmm - maybe BOTH!!!! OH, and can't wait till April when the movie SAHARA comes out!!!!
