Summary: Superb horror novel from a great team of writers
Review: The Relic is great, simly great. Mysterious murders start to take place at the NY Museum of Natural History. And it looks like no human is involved, but something that has no explanation. Agent Pendergrast is introduced here for the first time by Douglas Preston team. The action is awesome, mystery unrevealing at an excellent paste. Great ending. A classic gem.

Review: There is a major flaw in the book, namely, is the creature a missing link or is it manufactured through ingestion of an obscure plant. Other occurrences are not quite credible, but this is a fast, enjoyable read. It is certainly not on the level and sophistication of a Jurassic Park, but it will provide escape for a day or two.

Summary: Great Setting, Great Book
Review: This is one of my favorite books of all-time. It is set in the American Museum of Natural History, which just may be the most fascinating and mysterious in building the world. The museum provides a local that is at once both comfortingly familiar and dangerously exotic. The pacing of the plot is perfect, the sense of dread ia palpable. The detail of the museum layout and the explantions of the work that goes on there is extraordinary. The authors have a gift for making the danger feel very real. This one will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and shiver.

Summary: Their Best Work!
Review: What a fantastic tale! The Museum is about to launch a splashy new exhibit in an effort to regain audience and save their institution from long-declining revenues. When a chain of grisly murders threaten to shut down the celebration scheduled to debut the exhibit, an intense investigation begins while Museum official pull strings to ensure that the party will go on. Human mistakes lead to a disasterous failure of Museum security features, and the hunt is on. These two authors have delivered many superb books, but this was heads and tales above the rest. The plot is well put together, and endlessly suspensful. The setting is perfectly creepy, from the long dusty back halls of the museum to the tunnels and sewers below that provide a haven for the museum beast and ultimately an escape for the unfortunate characters that are being ruthlessly hunted. The movie was no comparison to the book itself. Wonderful read!
