Rating: Summary: Best book i ever read Review: Stephen E. Ambrose successfully captured the moments of the 101st airbourne division. This book was dedicated to the soldiers who gave their lives during world war 2, It followed the Footsteps of Easy company, 506th regiment, 101st airbourne, or the screaming eagles, they were a top parachute regiment, men of easy company had their toughest experience in their lives. They first met as a group in Camp Toccoa,in geworgia. They all came from different places and backrounds but one goal to serve their country patriotically, they later were sent to Europe to fight the evil empire, the "nazi's" or the germans. They parachuted through the skys of Normandy, the fought against time in Holland, They were freezing in their foxholes in bastogne ,they fought bravely as a group. They had heavy casualties. Brothers and friends were lost. They somehow survived through the harshest times of wasr and came out strong and on top. It was becasue of these herosism things and that easy company did that made them trust their brother soldiers and later they would come together and be called the Band of Brothers.
The book is based on individual stories told by different people in Easy Company, the most respected and remarkable person in the book was lutinant Winters who successfully led the men of easy company to many great victories and came out on top, and Winters thanked him for that with their braveness and herosism throiught world war 2. Band of brothers was formed from the Book By stephen E. ambrose and was turned into a 10 part mini-series by Stephen Speilberg and Tom Hanks. After the first few episodes I started reading the book along with the movie there was 2 parts each week all an hour in length so it gave me time to read the book, and it helped me the characters and orient what was happening. Also, the book gives you a greater understanding of why certain things and missions were so important in the war When every chapter i read and every part of the series i watched it was a new experience to me.
This 10 part mini series starts from training in Georgia to D-Day in Noprmandy to finding Hitlers "eagles Nest" in the mother land in the mountains.with this in mind readers should deffinitally like this book and readers should accept that this book was a true story and should respect what these men of easy company did for our country and save us from hitlers reign. After seeing the series and reading the book, you can't help but stand in awe of these men. Every day citizens were turned into incredible soldiers. They came from nowhere, saved the world, and then went home again. In these days we have to have a pefessional army who has to train vigiriously to fight our battles, it is difficult to imagine anything like this. I highly recommened this to book to anyonw who doesn't get the visual concept of the war and what these men witnessed and went throught and they should be more respected other than a medal on their chest.
I recommened this book absolutly, i loved it !!!

Rating: Summary: Feeling about Band of Brothers by a Hong Kong student, 15 Review: The Second World War lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved many nations in the world in so that we called it the Second World War. Also, it is the war which brought heavy destruction and causalities to the all mankind. This book, Band of Brothers, is talking about one small part of the history, the history of Second World War. It talks about the Easy Company of the 506th regiment, 101st Airborne. It talks about the history of this group of man. Compare to the amount of men who were participated in the Second World War, Easy Company were just the little part of them. However, by reading of this book, you will know about how close their relationship is. They suffered under the harsh training by Captain Sobel, got the paratrooper qualification, dropped in the dark zone and fought. They stand firm; they faced and fought under the worst condition that they never imagined before and the most important point is that, they done those stuffs together as a unit, Easy Company. I am totally impressed by all the things above and as we know, there are the TV series of this book. I watched it before I read this book. I found that the TV series is the compressed version of this book and I think that both of them are worth to read and watch. Though this book, I know how worse is the war. But, by this book, I can figure out how a group of man can work out the best performance. Maybe, such kind of performance only can be found during the war period.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Review: This is one of the best books ever. It is very interesting to read and there is a lot of info on World War II. It tells of the less known paratroopers during WWII.
Great Book that must be read!!! And after reading it, go see the HBO ten part mini series that's based off this book.
