Rating: Summary: Great Fun Review: After listening to just the first side of the first tape (a 2 tape set), I placed 3 gift orders for friends. I saved listening to the rest so I could savor it on my drive to and from work. If you like jokes, you'll really enjoy these tapes. Even oldies and "groaners" are fun when presented in the classic "Praire Home Companion" radio/stage show format. Very fast paced and entertaining, I recommend it highly. Hope there are more to come.
Rating: Summary: Machine gun of jokes Review: Do you know how many blue grass musicians it takes to screw a ligh bulb? Four. One to do it and three to complain that it is electric. This is a pretty good example of the tape. They just fire one joke after another for more than two hours. The jokes come so fast that you forget them almost immediately. So what, you can always rewind the tape. Many jokes are just the usual stuff about ligh bulbs, lawyers, Jessica Lewinski, and so on but many jokes are very inventive. If you want to have a good laugh or be a star of your next company event, buy this tape.
Rating: Summary: A really quite funny joke book--It's, oh, pretty good Review: I laughed at all the pages.
There are numerous sections of "types" of jokes. There's a section of "your mama" jokes (Your mama is so dumb she bought a solar-powered flashlight.). There are knock knock jokes. There are the jokes about the Minnesota husband and wife team who really are so bad to each other they ought not be married.
It's all pretty funny. It's all fairly new. There were a couple of jokes I used at work. Most of the jokes you can tell in mixed company. There are quite a few off-color jokes; but that's what a joke does is be off-color.
I enjoyed it. It's a great book. It's a good value. Read it before your next office party so you can scmooze with the big wigs.
Rating: Summary: Title says it all - Pretty Good Review: Pleasant listneing to hear lots of old standards, and many I had forgotten. A good giggle while I'm working in the kitchen.
Rating: Summary: A tour-de-force comedic production! Review: Pretty Good Joke Tape provides A Prairie Home Companion set of jokes, from traditional knock-knocks and one-liners to regional humor. Various comedians contribute their talents to this effort.
Rating: Summary: LET THE LAUGHTER BEGIN! Review: Step right up and treat yourself to belly laughs and knee-slapping giggles. The master of "Lake Woebegone" is at it again in his own unique witty whimsical fashion. Garrison Keillor is amazing, simply amazing. Let the laughter begin.
Rating: Summary: the best joke book ever!! Review: The Pretty Good Joke Book is the best joke book I've yet come across! I especially like its variety. It has some cute classics and some funny modern jokes. It includes yo mamas, bar jokes, regional jokes, kids jokes, musical jokes, occupational jokes, gender jokes, old people jokes, a few dirty jokes for adults...and much, much more! Also, it's not like one of those joke books where once you read all the jokes you toss it aside. Nope, with TPGJB, it seems that every time I read it, I come across new jokes that I haven't read yet, and, it's always fun to chuckle at a joke I've read before. One read of this book and you're sure to be the clown/comic of your community!
Rating: Summary: Belly Aching Fun Review: These jokes are hilarious and will keep you rolling for the length of the 2 CDs - and you *will* want to listen to them over and over again. You'll feel compelled to share the jokes with friends and co-workers - but you'll request they hear them from the source - as your joke-telling skills just won't match those of the master joke-tellers. Nevermind the NPR Public Laughter Tapes - they are OK, but for real laughs, get the Pretty Good Jokes. You won't be disappointed!

Rating: Summary: the best joke book ever!! Review: This CD relied on too many booger jokes for me. I thought I'd find more real humor. I would get my money back if I could.
