Summary: A Dream Come True
Review: I started reading this book one after noon, and between lunch and dinner, I did not stop reading. I finally finished at 4 am in the morning. This is the first novel that I've picked up and refused to put down. Jude Deveraux is one of my ultimate favorite authors. I definately give her and this novel 5 huge stars! I will probably read this story all over again. If only they made movies like this..if only things like this came true. I LOVE IT!

Review: I would read ANYTHING this author wrote (and probably have read most of them) and re-read them hundreds of times.

Summary: A Sensual Tale of from the Heart.
Review: I may be 11, but i love to read. A knight in Shining Armor is one my most favorite of the books Jude Deveraux so cleverly creates for us. Sensual, and quite a heart-quivering book. A mixture of faith, betrayel, love...time, adventure, naughty, and attractive knights and lords....all in this one eticing, and sensually wonderful book. Usually, i do not care for her work, but this was extremely exceptional! I always love a heart-warming ending, but at the same time a practical one. Answer me this, Why not share in the joy of learning new facts? Why not read this book for yourself? If you love sensuality, romance, tests of love, read this book! This book captured my heart completely, and simply refuses to let go. I hope you can enjoy this wonderfully created work of art as i have done.

Summary: One of my favorites!
Review: I just finished reading Jude Deveraux's "A Knight in Shining Armor," and I must say it is one of the best romance novels I have ever read (and believe me, I have read a few!). The story not only sends the reader on many twists and turns, through different ages and different emotions, but it ends wonderfully as only a Deveraux book could. I highly recommend this book to anyone!

Summary: A Wonderful Fairytale!!!
Review: This book is wonderful!! I read it for the first time when it was first released and I am now reading it again in 2002. The story is true romance and pure escapism.

Douglas Montgomery is stranded in England after being abandoned by her selfish boyfriend and his bratty daughter. Douglass is weeping in a church, wishing for her knight in shining armour. Her Knight appears before her transported to the present from approximately 400 years past.

After getting over her initial reaction that this man is just a mental case, Douglass begins to fall in love with the irresistable rougue.

The romance that follows will keep you turning the pages until the early morning hours. The downside to that is that the book is finished too quickly.

This book is a must for all romance readers and for those who fantasize about a whirlwind romance.

Summary: A modern fairy story...
Review: I think most people have had a fantasy of a Knight in Shining Armour coming to save them from a difficult situation. This book is like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty for grown ups. It is shamelessly romantic and yes, a bit silly but who cares. I have read this book several times now and every time it leaves me smiling. Dougless changes from a slightly annoying wimp in the first chapter to a thoroughtly modern and satisfying heroine in the rest of the book, and as for Nicholas, what can I say....... The ending is unexpected and avoids the usual romantic cliches, but if it doesn't make you cry you have no heart and shouldn't be reading romantic fiction anyway! It is pure magic. If you haven't read this book, read it right now.....

Summary: Love is Timeless
Review: I was overwhelmed with passion, love, sorrow, and hope. This book is for every true romantic(myself included). It proves that loves reaches beyond times boundaries, and into the hearts of all women looking for true love. Jude Deveraux told more than a story, she told every womans fantasy. A love reaching from beyond his time, entering the time of a woman who would change his life forever. Leaving her mark not only on history but on the eternal soul of a man. I could not put this book down. I finished it in two days. One of my very favorites, and it always be....

Summary: BestEver
Review: It's been several years since I've read this book and I have to say it was the best romance novel I've ever read. I cannot even look at another time travel novel again. Nothing could hold a candle to this book. I'm going to dust off my copy and read this again!

Summary: A classic of Devereaux's has new life again

1988
Dougless Montgomery is on vacation in England with her boyfriend, to whom she hopes to be engaged soon. What was supposed to be a romantic getaway for two turns into the trip from hell when Robert brings his obnoxious, scheming daughter, Gloria, with them, and them abandons Dougless in a Church in Ashburton, without even her purse! This being the worst in a string of bad luck lasting her whole life, Dougless breaks down, sobbing her heart out on the tomb of an English Earl from the 16th century who was to have been executed for treason.

1564
Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck, is sitting in his prison cell, writing a letter to his mother, three days before he is to be executed for treason. Suddenly, he hears a woman sobbing as though her life is over. Try as he might to ignore it, this woman's cries overwhelm him to the point he can think of nothing else. The next thing he knows, he is standing in a Church, in front of his own tomb and face to face with Dougless.

Nicholas has come forward over 400 years in time, to solve a mystery. He had been wrongly accused of treason and needs to find out who his betrayer was. Dougless is in disbelief, thinking Nicholas is crazy when he tells her his tale. She was never one to turn her back on one in need though, so as she helps him find his way around, she comes to believe in the impossible, and finds herself falling in love with her own personal knight in shining armor.

However, as Nicholas and Dougless fall deeper in love, fate beckons once again. Nicholas is taken back to his time to face his execution, nonetheless. Dougless can't give up hope though, in spite of their seeming failure to save him from death. Now the impossible happens once again, sending Dougless back in time herself, to try and prevent the chain of events leading to the execution from occurring. Shock of shocks though, Nicholas does not remember her and in fact, he despises her! Can Dougless convince Nicholas her story is true, in time to prevent his death?

It is easy to see why Knight in Shining Armor remains a fan favorite of Ms. Devereaux's books. She takes a classic romance theme and alters it entirely, making it entirely her own. The plot flows seamlessly, capturing and carrying the reader along. She also weaves a lot of interesting trivia bits in, without detracting from the story, and gives a clearer picture of life in Elizabethan England.

The characters grow dramatically throughout as well. Dougless starts out as a weakling who will do anything to make someone happy, but by the end of the story, she has come into her own. She overcomes her feelings of inferiority to become a woman full of quiet strength and confidence. Nicholas starts off as a scoundrel, a womanizer, and a philanderer. As the story moves along, he is seen for the noble man he is... one who puts honor and family above all else, even himself and his dreams.

Whether enjoying this book for the first or the dozenth time, it is enchanting, guaranteed not to disappoint. It is a thoroughly engrossing read and one definitely not to be missed! --This text refers to the Hardcover edition
