Rating: Summary: wonderful book Review: this book was absolutely wonderful. I started off reading the conquest one of Jude's earliest book and decided that I would like to read on. This book was very well written and it had all the action and love that I like to see. It keep me reading and I could not put the book down. I was so enraptured that I read this book in one sitting not even bothering to do anything else until I found out what was going to happen. The story starts off with a fallen knight that travels through time, unwillingly, to help this young lady with her troubles. She thinks that she is crazy when he appears out of no where, but she helps him try to discover why he is here. After researching she starts to believe him about who he says he is. Throughout it all their is a connection that binds them no matter where they are. then the knight gets sent back to his own time after they realize just how much they love each other and she is compelled to follow him. Yet when she gets to his time, she discovers that he is betrothed to another and that he has no memory of her or their love. She seeks to help him remember and through it all she doesn't give up. This story has so much more too it that I can't put into words because it wont fit. Just read the book. If you like love stories about how love will last throughout time then you''ll love this book.
Rating: Summary: what a great book! Review: this is truly the best romance book i have ever read. there is something so real about th echaracters and their predicaments even if it does deal with time travel. i would reccommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast-paced story and wonderful people. Jude Devereux did an amazing job.
Rating: Summary: A Romance Classic Review: This is definitely one of those must read books for anyone who loves a good romance. I read this book years ago and still remember it well. I highly recommend this time-travel romance.
Rating: Summary: I have copies of this book everywhere I go Review: Knight in Shining Armor is without any doubt the best romance I have ever read, time travel not whithstanding. I could totally relate to this modern day heroine's difficulty in dealing with dating a man with a spoiled child (my husband had three). She smolders while he puts said child's wishes first (hmmmmm, so true and familiar lol). Then the book really takes off as she is basically abandoned by her boyfriend and is weeping in an ancient church. Here comes the knight, Nicholas. From that page on the book is often side-clutchingly laugh-out-loud as Dougless the heroine tries to help her bewildered time traveler make his way through the modern world to try to return to his own and redress some family wrongs that were part of history. The ending is very surprising, and I was more than satisfied with it. So laugh, cry, (well, Dougless does that rather a lot and it IS said to rid the body of toxins) and just don't plan anything for a while if you are a slow reader. :)
Rating: Summary: This is a REALLY great romance and I will always own a copy. Review: One of my favorite "keepers" of my life - I have 2 copies so I can loan one out. This story grabbed me right away and never, ever let go. I lost sleep 'cause I couldn't put it down. This is passionate, poignant time-travel romance that sets the standard. It's among the riveting books that make me a devoted fan of authors(like "Whitney, My Love" by Judith McNaught and "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, other all-time keepers). If this story doesn't tug your heart-strings, I'd be amazed. It's just the best. Please treat yourself to this book.
Rating: Summary: An excellent written romance book-no one should miss this ! Review: I always recommend my guy friends to read this book. One of them come back to me saying that he also cried half way through the book. This is a very well written, extremely romantic story. And Jude told it in a brilliant way. If you only read one romance book in your life, read this one !
Rating: Summary: very good-- not satisfied with ending though Review: highly reccomended-- JD is a great writer, and there wre several funny moments. i liked how nicholas adjusted to the modern world-- his fascination with machines was hilarious! the heroine's time in the medieval world was not that funny but still good. a few caveats though, which took a star away. 1) the way Dougless didn't stand up to Richard. She was SPINELESS to the max. it was cool seeing her change, but i wanted to kick her when she just sat back and let him push her around. 2) what a crybaby! maybe it's because i rarely cry, but crying heroines are so annoying! Dougless cried throughout half the book, sometimes over the stupidest things! ugh.But the best part of the book is that i truly felt that dougless and nicholas loved each other. unliked so many romances now, love is NOT mistaken for sex. before they barely touch each other, they are falling in love with the PERSONALITIES. yes, romance authors! take lessons on love from this couple! less sex, more romance!
Rating: Summary: Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it! Review: This is by far one of the sweetest romances ever written! The story takes unexpected twists & turns that will leave your mouth gaping open! It's VERY hard to put down! I thought the ending was perfect (although I wouldn't mind Dougless being mentioned in a new book...). The historical information is very interesting & informative (& made me glad to be raising my children in the 21st century!). This is definitely Jude Deveraux at her best!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS, WAS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE BOOK Review: I have read this romantic tale at least four times. I even had my ex husband read it outloud to me many years ago. The time travel aspect of the book made it even more interesting. The historical aspects and research Ms. Deveraux did can make one overlook the formula romance plot. I even listened to this book on tape! Do yourself a favor, get this book, set aside a night and read the whole thing. Hopefully you will be forever touched by it as I was. I would love to see a movie version of this book.
Rating: Summary: This one stays in your mind Review: It's been two years since I read "Knight" and this book still remains one of my favorites. I was hooked on Knight from page 1, and except for the last few pages, I was captivated. SPOILER: I felt I had invested too much in Nicholas to be satisfied with Dougless winding up in contemporary times with anybody but Nicholas. However, that said, this is still a stunningly beautiful story. The fact that this book is still in print 5 years after it's original publication date speaks volumes!
