Rating: Summary: BORING! Review: The book started out fairly interesting, and went downhill from there....I finally threw it down in disgust about halfway through. Not her best effort. Homeport was much better in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Very suspenseful, couldn't put it down! Review: First time to read this author and was very impressed. Nora Roberts combined mystery, murder and romance all in one.
Rating: Summary: PREDICTABLE Review: I read the reviews and thought I would take the intial plunge with my first Nora Roberts book. I was very disappointed. I knew the killer and the motive by the second chapter. The plot was predictable, the dialogue was predictable, the sex was predictable and the ending was predictable. Overall, I regret the purchase.
Rating: Summary: Thank you Nora Roberts!! Review: I have been reading Ms. Roberts for many years and it has been awesome to see her developement as an artist. This book was wonderful. Definitely one of her best. It grabs you from the prologue and keeps you interested through the final pages. I read this book in one sitting. The descriptive language is beautiful, it really pulls you into the setting. I think this books appeal excedes just the traditional "Romatic Fiction" genre, and will really be enjoyed by "Mystery & Suspense" fans too!
Rating: Summary: Same Formula as "Private Scandals" Review: As much as I love Ms. Roberts' writing, I must say that this is not her best effort. After I went through the first few chapters I had this nagging feeling that I have read this story before--and I have. The story line is almost exactly like her earlier book "Private Scandals". Overall, I did enjoy the book. I just wish that she had come out with something brand new, not a recycling of her old stories. I highly recommend "Private Scandals" over this book (it's paperback so it's cheaper too). The characters and the plotline is ten times more interesting.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: Wow! I couldn't put this book down at all. The mystery of who murdered Olivia's mother had me stumped up until the end of the book! Definately a must read.
Rating: Summary: Once again... Review: Nora Roberts delivers a great book with interesting characters who the reader cares about. As always, I was not disappointed!!!
Rating: Summary: Been there, read that. Review: Nora, throw all these same old plots out and get some new ones. You're better than this book. Or the last couple of books, for that matter.
Rating: Summary: Tedious and mildly entertaining. Review: I have read almost all of this author's books and was excited to order her latest work. However, I was extremely disappointed. It took me a long time to mull through all the forest descriptions -- a very tedious process. In addition, the hostile nature of the main character, Olivia, did not have me empathizing with her. Also, it was easy for me to figure out within the first chapter who the killer was and even why it happened! I hate that! I want to be intrigued and challenged, yet this was so glaringly apparent from the outset. Also, there were many grammatical and technical errors in the book which were distracting. Ms. Roberts needs to get herself a better editor.
Rating: Summary: Nora does it again! Review: Nora Roberts has written another exceptional book, River's End. Although like others, I "guessed" whodunnit, near the end I started to question myself. I totally freaked out at the end, it was one of the best ever! I love how Nora makes her books with many characters that are 3 dimensional. They are all given qualities that tie families and situations together. And after reading this book, I long to visit the Olympia Mountains. Whenever I read Nora, I simply cannot stop until I'm finished. This has been true of every single book she's ever written, including River's End. I wish for her at LEAST another 128 books.
