Review: If you do not mind vivid characters who could have easily been alive in Letts' Where the Heart Is, The Honk and Holler was written for you. As a former teacher of students from Viet Nam, I am please with Letts' ability to who reveal the prevailing good character of and prejudice against this group of immigrants. Those who have turned friends into family will appreciate the team at The Honk. Like Where the Heart Is, this book doesn't stop until characters determined to survive do far much better than that.

Review: I just finished this book, read it in two days. I didn't want to put it down, obviously. It is a fun and cute book to read, I really enjoyed the characters. I did however have a hard time catching on in the first 1-2 chapters, I was a little confused about where one character would end and another would start. But it cleared up for me and loved the rest. Looking forward to her next novel. Already read Where the Heart is and loved that one as well.

Review: This is the first Billie Lett's novel I have read and I look forward to her first novel, Where The Heart Is. The story has a nice, downhome flavor and the characters blend well, particularly Caney, MollyO and Vena. "Honk and Holler" would make a great movie, Hollywood pay attention! We need more stories like this and I look forward to more books by Billie Letts. Highly recommended.

Review: Billie Letts has captured this story in a way that supports everyones ideas and shows everyones problems. Caney, a man that lost his legs in Vietnam, meets an ex runway, Vena, and instantly falls in love. Their friends and family support them and really show they care. A great novel to follow her first book.

Summary: A Great Read....Even Aloud
Review: I simply loved "Where The Heart Is". While in a bookstore in Florida the clerk put "Honk & Holler Opening Soon" in my hands. "Read this", she said. So I bought it. On the way back to Indiana I started reading "Honk & Holler" aloud to my husband as he drove. He wouldn't let me stop reading. The next evening after reaching our destination we finished the book together. This was a first for us both. The "Honk & Holler" is great. We felt as if we had been transported thru time to this small Oklahoma town and we knew each character personally. Congratulations to Billie Letts on another fine, fine book. We can't wait till her next book hits the rack.

Review: I purchased Honk and Holler because I loved "Where the Heart Is". Unfortunately, Honk did not live up to my expectations. It was cute, however, and if you're looking for a light read, or a "transition" book, this is the book to buy.

Review: I have read both books by Billie Letts "Where the Heart Is" and "Honk and Holler Opening Soon" and the both are spectacular. I read both books in days. I couldnt put them down there such wonderful stories and so wonderfully writen. Billie Letts you are the best writer!
