Rating: Summary: Great start, good middle... Review: I read "The Firm" at the height of its popularity and felt as if I were a player in the old tale of "The Emperor's New Clothes". It starts out well - I was hooked. The middle had some nice twists, but then it really sagged about 2/3 of the way through. Am I the only one that found holes in Grisham's story? The chase up and down the coast was boring at best and the ending... well, a little hard to believe after having been convinced of the protagonist's incredible drive to succeed and be recognized.
Rating: Summary: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THIS BOOK DOWN Review: I loved this book, it was very suspenseful and the movie does not do any justice to the book. I would suggest to read this as opposed to watching the movie. He is a fantastic writer
Rating: Summary: A Firm-Favourite Review: This is the first Grisham book that I have read (still reading), and I'm impressed. I haven't been able to put the book down, it has such a great story line that will keep you hooked. The plot has depth and quility that heats up as you progress, and will keep you on the edge of your seat.Grisham does an excellent job in portraying the characters and allows your imagination to run roit. You can almost believe the story to have actually happened. I can't wait to finish it.My first John Grisham and definitely not my last!
Rating: Summary: A suspenseful thriller Review: This, IMHO, is the best John Grisham book yet. It shows how things are not always what they seem. In this book things were just too good to be true.
Rating: Summary: Excellent work, but no.2 to Time To Kill. Review: Believe me, this book is good. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The movie is awful and uncomprehensive, even though it starred the gorgeous Tom Cruise. It always amazes me how Grisham was able to weave such a thick plot. How Mitch got started, how he got involved, how he managed to find out about the entire scam, how he got out... it takes a genius to write something like that. One thing I don't really like about the book is the way it ends - Mitch leaving his career as a lawyer and living on an island for the rest of his life - how impractical and uninspiring!! The story is so engrossing and so cleverly written, there is no doubt that it was a best seller in NY and Singapore and I suppose in many cities in the world.
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Books I've Read Review: I think that John Grisham's book The Firm is one of the best books that I have read because he uses great detail in his writing but doesn't use swearing in it like a Stephen King book. This book was so good that I didn't even want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: The best Book I ever read!!! Review: I couldn't put this book down, I read it is onw day. I recomend this book to anyone who loves legal thrillers. This is the best
Rating: Summary: Very, Very Good Review: Unlike so many other authors, Grisham doesn't make the mistake of revealing too much, too soon. In The Firm, for the most part we learn things as the character learns things and that, in my opinion is what makes this book so exciting. Everything starts out happy-go-lucky, but then the tension slowly builds, builds, builds until it almost becomes unbearable (in a good way) 3/4 of the way through the book. Things fall into place. The characters, both good and bad, are smart and act very believably. My only small complaint is that the ending kind of got away from what made the middle of the book so good, but that is not to say that it was horrible. It is a moot point and this book still deserves five stars. This was the first Grisham book that I've read and after reading this, I can guarantee that it will not be the last.
Rating: Summary: John Grisham's best work! Review: This Book is one of John Grishams Best Works. It is about a young lawyer who joiins a firm. THis law firm is not an ordinary firm. They have his lines tapped. They also give him great benefits. They gradually rope him in so much that it becomes extremely difficult for him to get out. Pretty soon the F.B.I gets invovlved and ... you'll have to read the book for your self.
Rating: Summary: This book well keep you on the reading from cover to cover!! Review: The character seem real and engolfs youwith a wonderful storline!
