Rating: Summary: I lost a few nights sleep!!!!!!! Review: I have to admit that I watched the movie before i read the book, and I must say that the book did'nt disappoint me! The characters were real, the situation real, the predicament REAL!!! This book makes you think what you would do if someone offered you the world and then carefully uses it to blackmail you into doing things that are unethical and not within your moral character. I read the book in 2 evenings and the loss of sleep was well worth it!!!!
Rating: Summary: It was a fascinating thrill ride from beggining to end. Review: For the sake of time I will describe The Firm as a thriller that keeps you captivated and wanting more throughout the entire novel. John Grisham is, in my opinion, one of the greatest writers of four time. His novels have been the cornerstone for many writers books.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Keep them coming, Grisham! Review: One of the best books yet by Grisham! Had me on the edge of my seat and found myself yelling and screaming while reading.
Rating: Summary: From GREAT to....what happened?? Review: The start of this book had me hooked in a matter of minutes. A job offer that will make Mitch exactly what he has always wanted to be; rich/upperclass along with the mystery of these men bugging everything in sight....leads to suspense and sinks those hooks directly in. By the middle of this one, I found myself still very interested, but at the same time, I could feel that things were changing in the style in which Grisham wrote. By the ending, I was (almost:) completely uninterested, but I kept reading because someone had told me that the movie ended so much differently...Honestly, that is the only reason (well, that and the fact that my husband offered to read it aloud to me while I cooked dinner >>wink<<) Midway thru this one however, I did go out and get myself a copy of A Time to Kill and will read that one. Hopefully, it will carry through ::smile
Rating: Summary: A Mindspelling, thriller that won't let you put it down. Review: Mitch Just gets out of law school and is a top student. He automaticly gets chosen into a picky thirty man firm. They use him for their tricks until he figures it out and runs away with their money. What happens next?
Rating: Summary: A Masterpiece! Review: Mitchell Y. McDeere= a new Jack Ryan? Mr. Grisham should consider it. This book is awesome. I had to keep on reading it. Were they going to catch them or not? Had to go down to the last page to find out. Grisham has a way of making you read all his book, the same thing happened when I read "The Chamber", which is not as action-packed as "The Firm", but a great book indeed. Read this one, people. It's a winner.
Rating: Summary: Unsatisfying ending Review: 'The Firm' starts out very good and seems to be very interesting. But I was very disappointed by the ending and I think it ruined the story. I don't think the ending was logical and I was even rooting for the FBI and the Mafia to catch Mitch.
Rating: Summary: mind blowing ! Review: This is by far the most important book ever written, as it challenged MY view of law and people. I could not believe how bad people could be and how they could do so many bad things. John Grisham is a very wise writer indeed! He writes dialogue very good and true to life as I know it. Also, the story is very realistic - actually, something exactly like this happened to me recently. I know how it feels. It is very bad. Read John Grisham. Read him or be unprepared to cope with everyday life.
Rating: Summary: Good plot driven tale with some resolution problems Review: The Firm is a well written book; well paced, plotted, and imaginative. However, it is plot driven as opposed to character driven.
Rating: Summary: this book was breathtaking Review: This was the very first book I've read in English language and I can tell it was breathtaking. The reader feels with Mitch as if he was a part of this story. Once I sat down and began reading I didn't even notice this was not my native language and I finished it faster than any German book I've ever read before.
