Rating: Summary: A horrible sceme Review: This book was terrific. I think you will love this book if you read the previous books of unfortunate event you know that there is nothing good that happens in the book and that a person the baudelaires hope not to see comes back in disquise.well in this book count olaf is in disquise once again and of course fools every one but the middle baudelaire thinks about something very hard and sees that there is an secreat elevater .well the baudelaires have a very nice father but the mother has an familiar worker for her.later in the story the baudelaires go in the secreat eleveter. The three children go down the elevator which is pitch black.too bad the baudelaires coudn't go down it all the time because the elevetors are 'out' and stairs are 'in' well the baudelaires go down the elevater and see a surprise at the bottom.now at the end of the story is very insteresting but that you will have to read for yourself!!!! this book has evil scemes you thought woundn't happen but if you read this unfortonate story you will be surprised the rest you will read for your own!!!enjoy this book!!!!! ps. if you like all happy endings please do not pick up this book because you will be totally wrong.
Rating: Summary: Amazing outstanding book Review: The Ersatz Elevator is about three orphans named Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. The orphans are called the Baudelaire orphans that is what everyone calls them. This book is the sixth in the series and it is outstanding. The Baudelaires are trying to live a happy life but Count Olaf is always messing it up. The Baudelaires go to live with the Squalors, their new guardians, on 667 Dark Street. They worry about Count Olaf a mean villain that has been trying to steal the Baudelaire fortune ever since their parents died in a tragic fire. Count Olaf also kidnapped the Quagmire triplets that are friends of the Baudelaires. The Baudelaires are trying to figure out the secret of V.F.D. I liked the book because it made me try to guess what was going to happen next in all the bad things that happen. I also liked if there was a big word or a weird phrase that the writer would explain what they mean and use them throughout the book. The book is written in first person and is in present tense and it's good that way. The description in this book is great I could actually see what the writer was talking about in my mind. I gave this book four stars because I like how the kids take things into their own hands instead of talking to an adult. This book is full of humor and suspense. The bad things that happen are very funny. Lemony Snicket is a great writer.
Rating: Summary: The Ersatz Elevator Review: This was an AMAZING book!!! I cannot stress enough how much I loved it! This book is filled with adventure, humor, and suspense. It'll keep you guessing until the last chapter. It is so entertaining that you will want to read it over and over, like I did. I recommend this whole series, but this one is my favorite. Buy this book!!! LEMONY SNICKET IS AT IT AGAIN!!!
Rating: Summary: Lemony is at it again. Review: This book appears to be part of a grouping of books written by Snicket who is fond of anagrams and increasing the vocabulary of his readers. Books 2 through 6 were released close together. By now, the reader is familiar with his brief respites from the story to introduce his own perils. In some cases, he puts himself in the story. In this episode, the Baudelaires seem to find their lives more palatable, nearly as much as when they lived with Uncle Monty. The Squalors turn out to be comprised of a wimp and a villain. Much like extensions of Mr. Poe and Count Olaf. Readers will again enjoy the resourcefulness of the three children, although most of what they encounter and perform is implausible at best. This book will delight the 9-12 reader with its wit and inspiration; many children have to overcome pretty large obstacles from their perspective. This book and the others in the series are a fun way to have fun while learning new words and writing styles. Besides, it tends to pass the time between Harry Potter installments.
Rating: Summary: This is a great story! I just loved it!!![...] Review: This is a great story about the unfortunate Baudelaire orphans and the terrible, terrible villian, Count Olaf, who has been hunting them just to get their fortune, ever since their parents died a fire, but Count Olaf has found them every where they went so far, and in their next home they discover a darkened stair case, a red herring, some friends in a terrible situation, a liar with an evil plan, a secret passageway, parsley soda, and no hope in solving the mystery of the three initials, V.F.D. This story is very interesting, exiting and suspenseful. I just loved the unexpected twist in the end. If you haven't read this book jet, then I say you should start right away, but only if you are sure to have lots of time because once you start this book you won't be able to concentrate on any thing else until you have finished reading it. I highly recommend this book, and the whole series to all people who can stand these so very, very disappointing and sad stories about very unfortunate orphans and terrible, terrible villains. I also recommend this series to all people who want to know about the very unfortunate events in the lives of the Baudelaire orphans. You might be frightened by all the things Lemony Snicket says about putting the book down, but that is not enough of a reason to miss out on this great book.

Rating: Summary: Buy this book Review: When I was reading The Erzatz Elavator I didn't realizeclass started . I just kept on reading. It was so great. This is the 6th book of A Series of Unfortunate Events. This series is about about 3 children whoseparents died in a fire at their masion. Their bank consultant Mr.Poe had to put them with their Uncle Count Olaf a very greedy, terrible, cold hearted, and sick minded man. Olaf tortured them and to get their very big fortune their parents left them behind. In each of the books (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) Olaf disguies himself or comes in some other way. In the 6th book he once again tries to steal their fortune by some interesting complecated crazy way. Klaus,Sunny, and Violet Baudeliare move in with their Uncle Jerome and their Aunt Esme Squalor. Count Olaf has at least 4 or 5 of ohis assisants helping him in this crime. Their is an suspiciuos doorman,a elavator in a closet in their apartement, and a weird buisness man.
Rating: Summary: Best Snicket Book yet Review: if you havent read this book you are missing out. In this story Violet,Klaus, and Sunny Baudelarie encounter a darkend staircase, a red herring, some friends in a dir situation, three mysterouis initials(V.F.D), a liar with an evil scheme, a secret passageway, and parsley soda.A GREAT BOOK
Rating: Summary: OKAY Review: The Series of Unfortuanate Events is a really good series, but ever since the Quamire triplets came into the picture I think they in a way ruined everthing. Maybe Lemony Snicket didn't know where the series was going and added those characters so he could have more to write about, but they didn't help at all. I'm currently reading the 8th book and I'm pretty relieved that the Quagmires aren't the main subject anymore. In the Ersazt Elevator the Baudelaires get to go to a new home after their friends, the Quagmires are kidnapped. Then the story really is all about the Quagmires and it just gets borring.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books in the series Review: I think that this book was the second greatest book in the series. I love this series. The best book in the series is "The Austere Academy" it is the best, because it is when they meet the quagmires who are very important since they help the Bauldlaire's get away from Gunther(Count Olaf) but then something happens to them. a sixth grader from Waldron Mercy Academy
