Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A disappointment! "I didn't get what they said" says child Review: I had just finished reading "Mrs. Frisbee and the Rats of NIMH" and "Charlotte's Web" to my 5 year old son (who thoroughly enjoyed both of those books) and was looking forward to reading him Stuart Little. But as I read a chapter each night, I kept thinking "it has to get better! Didn't I like this book as a child?" I noticed my son wasn't begging me to read more each night, as he had with all the other books. After we finished the book I asked him his thoughts about it. "I didn't really like it. I just didn't get what they said!" I had to agree. The language and especially the sailing jargon was not clear. Yet this 5 year old "got" the much more complicated concepts in Rats of NIMH? I was disappointed that this book didn't spark conversations from my son, like the other books had. Though we did talk about how interesting it was that the same person who wrote "Charlotte's Web", a book he truly loved, could also write a book like "Stuart Little", that he didn't enjoy at all. We're happy to leave Stuart Little behind and be several chapters into "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Now I'm hearing "just one more chapter PLEASE..." again.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Timeless Imaginative Entertaining Review: This book not only spans time, it also spans generations. While I truly believe that this book will always remain a much loved classic, one I thoroughly enjoy, I must admit that my true motivation for taking the time to praise it stems more from a desire to "defend it." I can not believe that some clown, a school teacher no less, could actually give this book a one star rating. They complain about the "jargon." What jargon? This teacher believes that only a "...motivated, high reader [would] truly enjoy or even finish this book." Well I am at a loss to explain my three year old daughter's love of the book, which SHE reads cover to cover at least once EVERY WEEK. She does not complain about the "jargon" (Jargon: truly enriching vocabulary), she just takes the time to LEARN the words and appreciate their use and meaning. Please ignore the closed minded, and enjoy this book.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A dated disappointment Review: Having never read this book as a child I looked forward to reading this book as a teacher and possibly sharing it with my students. I have changed my mind. I think many kids will be turned off by the lack of action and the dated, jargon filled language. Even the most exciting part of the book, the boat race, was so filled with sailing jargon that I found it hard to get really interested. Plus, I found the ending very disappointing. I was saddened by my reaction since I dearly love E.B. White's other books. I think that unless a student is a motivated, high reader they won't truly enjoy or even finish this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Book Review: My teacher let me borrow this book, and I wasn't so sure that I would be interested in it. But, as soon as I read a few pages, I kind of liked it. As I read a few more pages, I began to LOVE it, and couldn't put it down. When I would finally find a chance to read it, I became very sad when my mom told me to do my chores, or come to dinner. This is an AWESOME book. I think people of all ages will like it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The short mouse. Review: This book is the #1 book. I recommend it to everyone interested in children's books. The reason I read this book is because my mom made me, but after awhile I started to like it. At first it was boring because it had no action. For all you authors out there we young people like action packed books more than any other books. I give this book five stars.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: An Analysis of Stuart Little Review: Stuart Little is a wonderful book that I belive should be read in an elementary classrooms. This book takes you on a journey with Stuart through his many adventures. More importantly Stuart is shown love. Which all children need to experience in some way. I feel that the appropriate age level is third or fourth grade. Personally I was read Stuart Little in the third grade and still remember Stuarts adventures. Children love to be read or to read stories about animals. Stuart Little is one of the best.
