Summary: Decent novel.
Review: Rather shlocky in some parts. Lots of cliches but fast-paced and exciting. An easy and relaxing read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most intrigueing author of the 20th Century!
Review: James Patterson not only knows how to write a great suspense story, but he keeps you coming back for more. Along Came a Spider was only the first of all Patterson's novel's that I have read. It got me hooked. The impressive development of recurring character, Alex Cross is outstanding... like no other I've seen before. I recommend this & all of Patterson's novel's to anyone who wants to read a great story that will push you to the edge of your seat! Other great books: Jack & Jill, Kiss the Girls, Cat & Mouse, See How They Run, Season of the Machete & Hide & Seek. I have started reading When the Wind Blows... so far, so incredible!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An absolute winner.
Review: This books are not suppoed to be real life. They are a fantasy with a bit of realism tied in. Patterson use of words is suppose to keep the reader wondering. His use of detail is excellent. This allows for the reader to imagine that they are there. The fact of the matter is Patterson has written many incredible books and I hope to see more from him. I do hope some people can really sit down and understand the style in which Patterson writes before they think it is garbage. It is truely a work of art. I say keep the books coming Mr. Patterson.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Entertaining Style, Fast paced Story
Review: I enjoyed this book very much. Mr. Patterson's approach of taking only 3-4 pages per chapter really makes the reading go fast and makes it easier to know what's going on.

I will say one thing negative, however, that knocked this book down a star in the rating. Mr. Patterson has no clue about the implementation of the death penalty. The time when the bad guy's arrest was made and that person's execution happened in only a few months. What happened to a trial and appeals? Picky, I know, but it drove me crazy!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Style, beautiful phrasing - very well done.
Review: This is one great novel. I read a lot of books but this one is different because it is loaded with style. (Authors can study different writing techniques, etc but you can't learn style, you either have it or you don't.)

Patterson writes with such beauty and incredible phrasing. He structures his paragraphs like no one I'd ever read before. I don't know how he does it.

As far as the book goes, it's very good, actually pretty damn good. The charecters are strong, believable, the plot fast and tension filled, it has everything you'd want in a book of this genre and more. I'm reading it for the fifth time now and I'm picking up subtleties that I missed before. I love Maggie Rose and Alex Cross, they're so real.

This is certainly one of my top 3 books of all time - absolutely beautiful writing. I wish he'd write another one of this quality.

Summary: It was basically a good read &hard to put down

Summary: My Favorite Patterson
Review: I've read almost every James Patterson novel (once you start you really can't stop) and I enjoyed this one the most. It's as fast-reading and exciting as the Alex Cross books, but the story is infinitely more amazing and the imagery is surprisingly sensitive and beautiful for a writer who can often be so blood-and-guts. If you like Patterson even a little bit, buy this right away.

Summary: I thought the book was okay, not the best though
Review: I would recomend this book to people that are into not really gory books, but more of a suspense novel. It can get very boring if you don't have a long attention span though. The vocabulary was good, not too many big words but it wasn't really easy either. The author kept it floeing nicley bybringing in other exiting events and murders. It was interesting, the way the way he would switch from fantisy to real life and made up stories from a long time ago. zsome things weren't well explained and caused lots of confusion. i thind the writer did that to hold attention and make you think, as well asbringing up new surprises. I thought the bookwas good but i didn't like the end of the kidnapping case much. It ended to fast and easy. It could have drug on longer and had more murder. He could have made that part more exiting. It ended just like all other murder books and of course they had to tie in a tragic love stoy ending in death and heartache. I thought it would be more pyschotic judging from the back cover. It made it sound so weird and thrilling and a lot more twisted than it really was. For the most part it was a normal serial killer/kidnaper novel. Not that it was a bad book, I just like more gory things and it wasn't quite gory enough.I'm sure lots of people will like this book though. I have to admit at points it was hard to put down.

Summary: Required: One day of uninterrupted reading without guilt.
Review: I wanted to catch the next flight to Washington and assist Alex Cross with this horrible crime. Alas I remained home and cheered him on each step of the way hoping my findings and thinking would keep him on the right track. Mystery fans and readers this is a great book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A phenominal author
Review: James Patterson did an outstanding job on this book. I am looing forward to reading Cat and Mouse. I have a great deal of books that have good storyline, and a good overall mystery element; but the ending is weak in reference to the books make-up. Along came a spider had the total package, good storyline, good mystery element, an ending that was unsettling and fantastic.
