Summary: Stellaluna will forever hold a place in my daughters heart
Review: Danielle was first introduced to Stellaluna when she use to go to school early with her grandmother who was a teacher-librarian. She spent her time before school reading books. When she first read Stellaluna she fell in love with it. Danielle loved stellaluna so much that she wrote out the story and made a drawing of each picture on the right page so she could have her own copy. We had it bound for her just like a real book. She was 5 at the time. Danielle is now 10 and has the book as well as the stuffed bat. She still sleeps with stellaluna every night and takes her on all her trips. I keep the copy she made in my special memories.

Summary: Excellent, well presented story
Review: This book changed my son's attitude about bats! It has been such a wonderful addition to our home collection. I have also purchased it for several nieces, nephews & friends. Beautiful illustrations -- touching story & FUN to read! You & your children will love it!

Summary: Excellent childrens story with broad age appeal
Review: I truly love this book. I read to my daughters, ages 4 and 9. They both like the story about a baby bat separated from it's mother and raised by birds. This is more than just a story though, it's a modern fairy tale with shades of the "ugly duckling". My 9 year old has ADHD and she decided she's a bat living in a world of birds. Beautifully illustrated.

Summary: You'll fall in love with Stellaluna
Review: I read this book in a store while looking for a book for my sister who's turning 5. Needless to say I bought it! A wonderful story, beautiful illustrations, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm thinking of buying another copy for myself. A must read for all those people out there who are afraid of bats!

Summary: A baby fruit bat separated from her kind tries to fit in.
Review: A truly wonderful story about a baby fruit bat trying to fit in to a world without her mother or her own kind. The separation of Stellaluna from her mother could require some explanation to children, as it is a bit sad. The reuniting of Stellaluna and her mother in the end will deliver sighs of relief to both parents and children alike. Fantastic illustrations and message to readers. I loved it so much I named my baby girl Stella Luna.

Summary: Ithought the book was very strong and had a lot of good deta
Review: When I read the book, I realized it had a lot of good pictures and I learned a lot about fruit bats. It was heartwarming and I had a friend who asked if he could read it. I am ten years old and I so enjoyed this book. I thought it was a great book and I hope that you make more like this with Stellaluna.

Summary: Storyline and illustrations were incredible for any age
Review: I am presently taking a Library Science class at my college. I am an education major. I must admit, I was not looking forward to reading all the required books, but Jannell Cannon is great. The illustrations in these books are unreal and so life-like! Anyone would have to love a little yellow snake, or a bat that lives with birds. The great thing about these books is that the storylines and illustrations are so real and completely outstanding. I have a four year old who now thinks she may want to play with snakes after reading Verdi. Jannell Cannon, PLEASE continue to write and illustrate! You are great and I beleive I am receiving as much pleasure from these books as my four year old!!!

Summary: Wonderful, sensitive, educational book!
Review: This is a wonderful book to teach differences, how to get along, learn to deal with unusual situations and make the best of it. The illustrations are beautiful, they give warmth and a feeling of love.

Summary: A book worthy of owning
Review: My first reaction to the book when the owl swooped down on the bats was "Oh, no, another Bambi, mother-abandonment story." It was a good thing it all ended happily. The story had nice, heartwarming elements, from little Stellaluna anxious to please the mother bird, and the baby birds trying "bat tricks" to the final reunion of the bat and the birds, and all of them still getting along.

I read this to my two-year old, and she loved it and she learned things from it. I would recommend it for an audience younger than 4.

I judge a book as well-written if the parent can read it over and over again on request and still find the book appealing. This book passed the test.

Summary: Stellaluna teaches unconditional love!
Review: I was introduced to Stellaluna this year in a kindergarten class I volunteer in. The story shows how it's ok to be scared and to be different from others. It also shows that eventually things will turn out right. I love the illustrations! I'm not a big fan of bats, but Stellaluna won my heart!
