Rating: Summary: I don;t recomend this book to anyone!!!! Review: This book is about a boy who wants to play football. This book is good for people who know all about football. I didn't understand it that well because of all the signs and plays. I personally didn't like this book because of that. I would only recomend it to people who understand football very well.
Rating: Summary: This review is about Terry's love of football and his skill. Review: This book is about an excellent football player that is the star of the town (Terry). It tells about the game of football and how Terry gains his skills. In most games against teams from other towns, Matt Christopher gives the events (Touchdowns, safteys, field goals, etc.), star players, and the final score. Terry becomes more and more obsessed with football and gets too attatched to the sport. This is a great book for football fans and people that understand the sport.

Rating: Summary: Boots The Right Tackle Review: This book is wonderful for kids.It shows that quitting doesn't help you much, and football can be fun even if you don't get what you want.Boots wanted to be quaterback but he weighs too much to play QB so he is put on right tackle, and he hates it but soon he begins to like it.I think the book is really great and it teaches a lesson.
Rating: Summary: Tough to .... Read Review: This book was just pages and pages on details about 4 football games (plays called, players names) The actual story, about a boy who doesn't know if he wants to play or not because he's a tackle and not the quarterback encompassed about 10 pages of the book. The moral is a good one but it is just too difficult to get through 20 pages at a time about how much time is left or who ran which way. I know quite a bit about football and still wasn't interested.

Rating: Summary: I recommend this book to boys ages 9-12 who like football! Review: Tough to Tackle is about a boy named Boots Raymond and his season playing football with the Apollos. In the beginning of the book, Boots tries out for the football team. He wants to be the quarterback, but the coach has a weight limit for each position. He's too heavy to play quarterback so the coach makes him a tackle. Boots doesn't like playing tackle and wants to quit the team. Boots receives a letter from his brother who convinces Boots not to quit. Boots listens to his brother, stays on the team, and has fun as his team wins the division. I recommend this book and give it 5 stars! 5th grader, Michael Zoellner, Nazareth School
Rating: Summary: Tough To Tackle Review: Tough To tackle, by Matt Christopher, is one of his books about sports. This type of book is a realistic fiction book so it's not true but it can happen. This story takes place on a football field and happens from the months of September and October. Matt Christopher helps us know the characters by telling us what the characters do and how they act. The major conflict is that a boy named Boots Raymond really wants to play quarterback for his team called the Apollos, but Coach Hayes said that he's too heavy to play quarterback so he puts him on right tackle. Will Boots ever improve on his position? Matt Christopher's writing style interest me because he likes to write about sports all the time. This book would be great for 9-11 year old kids because this book is interesting and I would recommend it. I'd give this book a 4/5. A person that likes sports would like this book. So to find out if Boots will ever improve on his position, go get this book now at your local library.
