Summary: Heart Thumping Adventure
Review: First let me begin by saying the first review listed has erroneous information. Casey is not 6 but 10 when her father dies. He has only been dead for 2 years when the story opens.
This story deals with a very timely issue;child abandonment. Casey has to decide how she will survive in NY after she realizes her stepmother, Sylvia, has left her. She's only 12 years old and has been left with $55. She has to decide who she can trust with her secret. Casey soon realizes that she has less in common with here best friend, Karen, and more in common with Paulie, the 16 year old, street smart foster child who lives in her building.
Paulie forges checks for Casey so she can pay the bills and then Casey owes him. How far is Casey willing to go to make money to survive? Paulie is not only her partner in crime, her mentor, but her surrogate parent who makes sure she does her homework and keeps going to school so the authorities won't check up on her. Then Casey and Paulie must face the most daunting challenge of all -- Paulie's beatings by his foster parent. Who can they trust now?
Casey and Paulie meet an assorment of characters and face a myriad of challenges head on that lend themselves to "what if" discussions with your children. There are moral and ethical issues raised that make young adults stop and think.

Summary: A Heart-Stopping Story
Review: I loved author Couloumbis's first book, so I was eager to read this one. I liked it even better! The characters are as well-drawn, but the plot is swifter and more intricate. The struggles of a young girl to keep her life intact in a big city when she is abandoned by a stepmother she loves--and thinks loves her--are heart-stopping at times. But without being sappy, the ending does bring things "right". I was glad--Casey and her seemingly hard-boiled friend are both kids that touch your heart, and deserve a reasonable solution to their problems.

Summary: Saying Yes to Say Yes
Review: I think that this book Say Yes was a wonderfuly written book. It has rich wirting and i would definitly rate it top scale.
It is about a girl name Casey and her step-mother leaves, leaving her no trace of where she is going. Casey finds a friend name Paulie a foster child, he helps her trough the rough time she is having while her stepmother is away. her father dies when she is 6 and her mother dies when she was 4 so she feels really lost in the world. I think that this is a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone reading this. Read the book to uncover the wonderful and not so wonderful adventures young Casey discovers while on this journey.
