Rating: Summary: Network marketing can't apply in Hong Kong Review: It is good to sell the dream of freedom to Hong Kong people, but actually, no one knows if you can gain large sum of money after you invest your money and efforts in this company. Also, there are many illegal companies, which are working as MLM structure, i.e. pyramid scheme. Those companies are rather people oriented than product oriented. Before they enter the company, they need to pay a large sum of entrance fees, and they earn bonus by referring the scheme to people, but not recruiting sales representatives to earn commissions by selling products. Very often, those companies easily wind up. Hong Kong people are mixing up the concepts of these companies with those legitimate MLM companies, such as, Amway, Nu Skin and Mary Kay. Therefore, most of the Hong Kong people are not faithful to the MLM companies as they are too risky for them to join.

Rating: Summary: Anything Poe writes is a must-read! Review: Poe's two Wave 3 books are totally enlightening, entertaining and useful. He is at his best laying out the future of network marketing. Network/relationship marketing is the wave of the future, and Poe paints a clear picture. More and more, friends are going to be buying all sorts of goods and services from friends, and on the internet. And when friends buy from friends' *websites*...WOW! If you *really* want to understand what's financially possible for someone with a burning drive for lots of money via network marketing, read the Poe books. They'll keep you up nights! Anyone who still thinks of network marketing as "peddling soap door to door" or "pyramid schemes" is about 40 years behind the times and just doesn't get it.
Rating: Summary: The book that started the revolution! Review: Richard Poe is the voice of network marketing. His articles in Success Magazine, Network Marketing: The Most Powerful Way To Reach Consumers in the 90's, May 1990 and We Create Millionaires, February 1992 brought network marketing to the public and business communities. Wave 3 became an instant best seller and introduced the concept of mass marketed MLM--a new generation of network marketing opportunities that simplified and automated many aspects of the business. No longer did distributors have to warehouse and deliver products, drive miles to meet prospects and send massive mailouts, now WAVE 3 networkers came to rely on drop shipping and auto ship programs, voice mail, 3 way conference calls, video passout, satellite broadcasts, fax-on-demand services and other technicalogical innovations to grow their businesses, faster, easier and better than ever before. Now instead of coming home from work and going to a meeting, they can simply dial for dollars or put a prospect on a three way call with their sponsor. It also eliminated the cost of paying for expensive hotel rooms to host meetings. You no longer had to order cases and cases of product, now you could be placed on auto ship and have your products delivered right to your door. And the company will also dropship the product right to your customers door. With Wave 3 created tremdous growth in the 1990's. Today, publicly traded network marketing stocks are among the best performing stocks in the stock market. And an ever growing number of Fortune 500 companies are creating network marketing companies as separate divisions to market their products. Some examples include Citigroup, Avon, and Rexall. As we are rapidly moving towards a jobless society, Network Marketing may be the average persons best change to survive in an economy where there are few jobs. In the 1990's, we saw corporate Americans flee from the corporate world to the network marketing, a tradition that has continued through to the 21st century. Wave 3 started the revolution and is an excellent book. I would recommend Wave 4 in place or in addition to this one. And the WAVE 4 Way to building your downline.
Rating: Summary: A great book for a beginner and experienced Networker Review: Richard Poe tells you how it is. This book gives you great insights into the truth about how great Network Distribution can be, and also some insight into the obstacles. He shares great stories from Networking experts that have achieved success in Network Distribution. I can't tell you how much I learned reading this book and also how much it helped me in my way of thinking when I started my Network Distribution business. This book was the first one that I read from Richard Poe and I will be reading all of his books. Knowledge is king, and reading his books can give you that.
Rating: Summary: Most objective book on network marketing I've seen! Review: Richard Poe uses his reporting skill and experience to tell us objectively about the wonderful opportunities afforded by network marketing. It's obvious he's a fan of the marketing method, but he tells the good, the bad, and the ugly, and uses experiences of people who have both succeeded and failed in network marketing. He carefully explains what it takes to be successful, but also candidly tells how you can fail. This book is an excellent guide to evaluating network marketing companies and products in addition to being a practical how-to training manual. I highly recommend the book to any person considering networking, and especially to people already in the business, and to dropouts
Rating: Summary: Network Marketing seems too ideal in this book Review: The author stated that the future development of network marketing, i.e. Wave Four will dominate the market, it means that all the companies will be working as the structure of network marketing . It is not necessary for them to spend money on advertising, but they would much depend on people¡¦s network to have a word of mouth communication about the company. But actually, if the company is newly entered, how can it attract the people to be its downlines? In our opinion, promotions, e.g. advertising, are needed to inform the people about this company. The author only talk about the pros of network marketing, but the fact is that it is pyramid scheme and only the upline (at the top of pyramid) can gain large revenue, but not the downline, as those income of uplines are supported by the downlines who below them.
Rating: Summary: Well-written, but misleading Review: The book is very readable, but the information is biased towards the upside of network marketing (NWM). From experience & careful research, without hesitation I can tell you his conclusions are incorrect. After subtracting all expenses, less than one of 50 networkers ever earn a profit, and if you subtract the NWM products that would not have been purchased had the person not gotten into a given NWM program, the vast majority of participants lose money. Though legal because legitimate products are offered, NWM is still a pyramid scheme, a key point Poe (and the entire industry) ignores. Only a few at the top of any pyramid can succeed, supported by the "losers" beneath them. The book is readable, but provides very misleading information --since the downside of NWM is not given to balance the rare success stories he relates.
