Summary: Brilliant book!
Review: I was surprised to see some poor reviews for this book, because I LOVED it! The story was fascinating with so many twists and turns, and it really made you think 'what if it could really happen?' ie. if the genes of Christ could be found, what would happen, who could be trusted with the power? A great first novel, I can't wait to read Michael Cordy's next.

Summary: ABSOLUTLY THRILLING AND GRIPPING(Hi-tech meets the BIBLE)
Review: If you are a fan of "realistic" science fiction then this is your piece, combined with the paranormal and the unexplained all taking place in our modern world of politics, religon as well as the ruthless quest of power earthly as well as heavenly this book effectively combines the usually conflicting contents of religon and science in one explosive drama of epic proportions.

Summary: Improbable, but readable!
Review: It seems that as soon as you read this book you will be drawn into the main characters depressing life, after losing his wife, and then finding out his daughter has brain cancer you wonder why he is bothering to live himself, but the book not only focuses on his struggle to deal with what life has tossed his way but also his race against time to find a cure for his daughter! Compelling reading, and a very good plot!

Summary: A clear victory of Reason over sick Theosophies
Review: It's the kind of book that if you open it, you don't stop before you read the last page of it. It's one more leap towards the rebirth of reason. It's a very clear and straight answer to anybody that seeks for questions. Although writer does not seem to underestimate the power of the divine doctrines, he finally penetrates with his undoubted reason their fake costumes. Only one statement i find weak. - Why all people on earth can't be genetically perfect? - Because then earth would not have the means to maintain life for all of the people for 500 or 600 years, which would be the life span of each one of us, and also people would eventually be unhappy due to the fact that since everyone would be perfect would not have any real purpose in life. I strongly disagree with this view and i strongly suggest that Mr. Cordy should read the "The Physics of Immortality / Frank Tipler". Long before people become genetically perfect, other near or distant planets will have been

colonized and life would have been spread. John Piliounis / Physicist - Software Eng.

Summary: Very Cool Thriller! Intriguing Concept, Excellent Writing
Review: Just finished reading this book. Very cool. No doubt, Michael Cordy will have a good career if he continues to write like this.

He wrote the characters well, and developed their motivations with skill, and grace. The character of Nemesis was particularly well done. The twists near the end of the novel(which I won't describe here) were, even though forecasted, a good surprise.

My only complaint is that Mr. Cordy seemed to write his characters with the same level of intellect. The Nobel-Prize winning Doctor(the main character) spoke as well as his young daughter, who spoke as well as an insane ex-nun. For example, his roughly 8-year old daughter(however old she was) said "whilst" in the middle of a conversation. I couldn't picture the character, smart as she was, saying that. Likewise, the insane nun seemed to have as good a grip of Genetics as the Main character(a geneticist).

Still, excellent work, I highly recommend it.

Summary: "The Miracle Strain" is a superbly written gripping thriller
Review: Michael Cordy's debut novel "The Miracle Strain" is a superbly written gripping thriller. It is a fast-paced, easy-read page-turner. From the first paragraph you are hooked to the story and the interesting characters. Cordy's character development is simply brilliant. "The Miracle Strain" is an experience that any thriller fan must live. You experience the lives of the characters, day by day, over coming adversities, and seeing the world through their eyes. You soon begin to feel as if you are a part of the story, with the words flowing round you like music. But be warmed this is not for the faint-hearted. Cordy goes into some detail regarding the righteous killings and the harrowing past of several characters, mainly, Maria Benariac & her childhood experiences at a Corsican orphanage and Dr. Tom Carter & his involvement with his mother's suicide. "The Miracle Strain" has everything a modern day thriller should have, from brutal kil! ! lings, undercover operations, secrete treasures, etc. But above all else it has humanity intertwined beautifully between science & technology and faith in God.

Summary: Not excellent, but not THAT bad
Review: No, I didn't think the writing was stellar, and it could have definitely been polished in some places, but the story was good. The twist of the way the genes work was inspired. Perhaps it's not a terrific, excellent, or even great or very good, novel, but it is decent, and more readable than some of the others I've read lately (avoid Gemini Man, One of Us, to name just two, like the plague)

Summary: What would YOU do with the genes?
Review: Reading this book was like casually walking down a street then, all of a sudden stepping into an open manhole, but being pleasantly shocked! I sometime found it difficult to concentrate on the story as the content triggered my imagination and sent it wondering off with the thought of, what if! What a great concept......if only. Since this book was written mankind has come a long way with genetics so you never know. The ending leaves a possible opening for a sequel, good versus evil to the ultimate end? I hope that, having mentioned that the book has been looked at as a possible film, that they do it justice. Talking of justice, read CRIME ZERO, this is also by Michael Cordy, another great concept.
