Summary: A wonderfully poetic reading
Review: Would it be blasphemous to quote an old adage that if God would speak it would sound like John Gielgud? Never mind if you consider the text as absolute historical truth, beautiful metaphor, or something between the two. It would be very difficult to find a better reader than Sir John. His voice shows every sign of age and that makes it sound just right. Also his carefully cadenced reading brings out all the poetry inherent in the King James translation of this material. An absolute Stunner! And an object lesson in dramatic reading for our current crop of microphone-influenced whisperers and mumblers.
