Rating: Summary: raw heartwrenching and very true Review: A books that wraps itself around your soul and teaches us about humanity, how alike we are regardless of our sexuality, race, or cultural differences. We are alike in pain. It was like reading poetry.
Rating: Summary: Heartwrenching, startling beautiful story of struggle... Review: and healing. This book is a gem. As a social worker in inner-city Chicago, I work with many people who are struggling with problems and relationships as complex as those of Precious Jones. What makes me supremely hopeful, however, is that I also see as many people who have her energy, artistic talent, and untapped potential. This book is amazing...and true to life. The way in which Precious finds her voice through writing is truly compelling. I started reading and could not put it down. Thank you, Sapphire.
Rating: Summary: A disturbingly phenomenal story of survival! Review: Precious Clarice Jones is an old young woman with immeasureable strength, courage and tenacity. From pushing her way out of the womb, through surviving against overwhelming personal adversities, to claiming her power, Precious proved paragon in the scheme of things. How beautiful and wise is Sapphire to know that love - and the lack of it - is the source of all things good and evil.
Rating: Summary: It was interesting , sad , and educating novel Review: This story is about one girl who at twelve years old became pregnant from the sexual abuse of her father. Throughout the novel she hates how her mother is treating her because she found out that she had slept with her husband , and the daughter "Precious" hates herself because of the abuse from her mother and father. Overall I think that this novel teaches girls who want to have babies to stop and think about the changes that will come into their lives after having those babies. Sometimes the language is too intense for some audience that don't like slang language.
Rating: Summary: An Emotional and Surprising Story!!!! Review: This story is about a young girl who goes through a lot in her life. Almost everything you could imagine happens to her. After reading this book I now value my life even more. The things she goes through is so sad, am surprised that she doesn't try to kill herself. She grows up to fast and doesn't even enjoy it. However, the author really made it interesting by making Precious' speech so realistic and funny from beginning to end. Don't get me wrong but it was sad and funny at the same time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I think this is a must read for people of all colors and ages this was a book of true struggle.

Rating: Summary: This is one of the best books I have ever read Review: I am a teen case manager and this book changed my life and the way I work with this population. I believe that anyone who thinks everyone's life is equal should read this. I believe anyone who reads will be strongly affected for a long time.

Rating: Summary: Read this book! Review: I think that just the fact that Sappire's work _Push_ received this many reader responses attests to its glass-shattering smash effect on the coffee tables of America.
