Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A FIERCE DEBATE ABOUT ABORTION
Review: A good work developing the principle of empathy. (the ability to share another person feelings and emotions). Outstanding, breakneck pace, mindboggling, suspense never ever ends until the last page. The unveiling of the fourth procedure is utterly chilling. The author have got what it takes to be an excellent writer When is his next one ?

Summary: How to turn yourself into an insomniac
Review: A very, very good read. For an authors first attempt at writting I am truly amazed at good it was. The surprise twists in this story were far to many to count. The suspence was a true page turner. It really put a differant perspective on the topic of abortion. I give it a ten! I will now do a search to see if Stanley Pottinger has any other books to read. I hope so!

Summary: A Propoganda Piece of Monstrous Proportions
Review: After expecting a Michael Crichton, Robin Cook, or Jonathan Kellerman-style thriller, I was quite disappointed. The book was well-written enough to compell me to finish it, despite how angry it made me (hence the rating of 2 instead of 1). I am a strong believer in life, but I can accept it when people have a pro-choice viewpoint. It's when it is "in my face" that it makes me livid. This book, although fairly well-written, was not so much a medical thriller but rather an elaborate pro-choice propaganda brochure with a cast of paper-thin characatures and bad stereotypes representing the pro-life side of the argument. Mr. Pottinger could have saved a lot of time and effort if he skipped the novel and merely stated his intended point more directly: " Pro-life is bad. Pro-choice is good." Some of us read to be entertained, not lectured to.

Summary: This is a book you can't put down.....
Review: And once you finish it, it stays with you. Without forcing any opinions on you, this exciting novel exposes you to many twists & turns while keeping you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Since first reading it back in 1995, I have been relentlessly searching for another Stanley Pottinger book. This is most definitely a book you shouldn't pass up.

Summary: Brain Dead Political Screed
Review: First, I agree with just about all of Mr. Pottinger's agenda. Being pro-choice is good, boming abortion clinics is bad. Not as bad, however, as his writing, which would be perfectly adequate for a comic book, but is otherwise painfully inept. The premise and plot of this worthless little book are sooo idiotic I had to groan upon figuring things out. And putting it all in the Washington DC scene is unforgivable. This thing is liquid filth. Stay away.

Summary: Stunning page turner you can't put down
Review: For those who love major thrillers, this is truly one with an outlandish premise that is easily believable. If you're too wrapped up in abortion politics, pass it by, but this novel is truly creative and easily believable. Don't miss it. Could be one of the top ten thrillers of this decade.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Medicine and politics collide in this intricate thriller...
Review: Harvard-educated lawyer Stanley Pottinger's debut novel starts out unrelenting, and pretty much stays on that level throughout. A merciless prologue sets the tone, then the reader is whipped into a bizarre series of murders which ultimately connect themselves to some of the highest political and judicial offices in the land. The characters are sexy and interesting, the plot twists flirt with implausibility yet don't quite consummate same, and things are resolved in a curiously ambiguous fashion. Preachy, to a slight degree (hence the missing 5th star), but Pottinger's (what's next, Stanley?) novel rips at you and defies you to put it down.

Summary: GREAT 1st novel by Pottinger
Review: I also agree that this novel is less about the pros-&-cons of abortion and more about a story that just happens to have abortion as one of it's many storylines. I remember picking up this book and after a hundred compelling pages or so, I STILL had no idea where the book was going. When we are finally treated to 'where' it was heading, I have to say it really took me by surprise. Of ALL the things I was prepared to expect out of what I had read, what eventually happened was a COMPLETE

shocker. I'd tell you but TRUST me, finding out what 'it' is truly IS the best part of the book. After finishing 'The Fourth Procedure' I went looking for other books by Pottinger only to find out that it was his FIRST novel. I was pretty impressed with how good he got it. Now I COULD have given this book 5 stars, but seeing as it was his first novel, I'll leave room for him to improve in the future, and when I pick up his next book (not IF, WHEN) I'll do another review and I fervently hope that Mr. Pottinger improves upon this work (which would be difficult, but possible) and I sincerely hope he earns a 5-star that time. 'The Fourth Procedure' is a great whodunnit/medical-mystery/pure thriller, and I think it practically defies a particular genre, and just might create a whole new one. Good stuff from a promising new author.

Summary: Amazon Read
Review: I did not like the novel in the beginning, but then later on the book gets more interesting. This book is an abortion fiction book It is about many medical rblems which als create political problem, so it is mixed. If you like books that talks about abortion and medical issues, this is the book is that the book can also like mstry books, well, you have found it. What I like about the book is that the book can relate to real life even though this novel is fiction. It is outstanding, but once again I won't say it was the best book I have ever read in my life. This is a book that has mystery throughout the whole story about many women who are dead or are dead or are bleeding to death. This book has lots of suspense.
If you ask me about recommending it I would say not to read it bu then again there are many people who like certain types of books. If you like to follow through stories, this book can be a little challenging
