Summary: I thought the book was fantastic reading.
Review: I have read all of Faye Kellermans books and each Peter Decker story is always original and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Kellerman keeps you interested in the story to where you have a hard time putting down the book. You want to keep reading to find out who did it and why.

Summary: One of Faye Kellerman's best in the series.
Review: I have read all of Kellerman's Decker/Lazarus series now and consider this one of the best. I agree with other reviews that Kellerman has a tendency to view women as almost inferior (other than her heroine) and that the men view the women in a "turned on" state. But, and there always is a "but", I've found that it's not unusual - in books or in life. So, let's take that with a pinch of salt and stick to the story and plot line. Terrific. I'm a great mystery buff and always look forward to a new Kellerman. I've recommended her writing to others who love the genre and will continue to look forward to more of her books. The restaurant killing scenario was fantastic and something I have never seen in other mysteries. I will continue to read her books and recommend them to others. They're certainly different and, in my opinion, better than her husband's! A great read all around.

Summary: So close to great . . .
Review: I love the characters of Peter and Rina, but like the reviewer from San Francisco, I got annoyed at the constant reference to men being turned on. Men are not animals; they have a brain and self control. Don't treat them like this! You degrade both sexes. Also, I'm getting weary of books that use foul language. Ms. Kellerman is such a superb writer, I wish she'd take the next step and become a writer with integrity. It takes a great writer to NOT use cuss words and to NOT talk about sexual subjects gratuitously. Make the world come up to your level, Ms. Kellerman, don't bow down to theirs. Most of us have had enough. It's time to back up and leave some things to the imagination again. THAT'S the muscle we need to use the most. So, go for it, Faye! You can do it!

Summary: I could not put this book down
Review: I think the Rina/Decker story gets better with each novel. I really look forward to Pete's daughter involvement into their story line. I liked how this novel unlocked another side to Peters' personality. That darkside of him that I have not seen and did not know existed. Peter is always so laid back, so to see his frustration come full circle was interesting

Summary: Running Out of Steam
Review: I've read almost all of the Decker/Lazurus books, and this one is a real disappointment. Is Kellerman perhaps running out of steam with these characters? I, too, noticed some of the inconsistencies that other reviewers have pointed out. Also I am starting to notice more and more examples of just plain downright clumsy or "clunky" writing. Maybe Kellerman should slow down a bit, think through her plots a bit more, and then spend time polishing. She needs to read some of James Lee Burke's books for examples of fine writing and Ridley Pearson's for edge-of-your-seat suspense.

Summary: Serpent's Tooth
Review: I've really enjoyed all of Faye Kellerman's books in the Peter/Rina series, but I have to say, that this is definitely one of the best so far. An excellent story.

Summary: Being a mystery reader, this series really has it!
Review: I've spent most of my summer reading Decker and Rena books! I haven't read them in order as I couldn't get them in order . I have 3 more to go and then I will wait for Faye to publish another.
What I really enjoy is being included in the family life. I feel as though I know these folks and would love to sit down to dinner(if Decker could get out of his office for a couple of hours)!
I did the same thing with the Tannenbaum series...got hooked on that series too.
Looking forward to more...this one was really a good ride!

Summary: Peter Decker is on/off a mass murder case.
Review: My first Faye Kellerman book, and I feel it was a bad choice. Peter was the only character I had a feel for. His sexual harassment hearing after interviewing a prominent and beautiful witness/suspect was not believable. Rita's testimony was equally unbelievable. In short, the characters did not get developed, there was a lot of trivial dialogue and the transition from place to place, scene to scene, character to character was bumpy and at times confusing. (Let's see, where are now?) The overall plot was great, the build-up was good, but the climax was wimpy. From whence did the title come (I realize serpent's don't have teeth)? Any recommendations on what work captures the (I hope) real Faye Kellerman?

Summary: Good Detective Story
Review: Peter and Rina Decker are two of my favorite characters, and it was nice to catch up with them again. A good detective story. Doesn't disappoint.
