Summary: I absolutely LOVED this book!!!!!
Review: I purchased this book in hardback when it first came out,and stayed up all night to finish it in one day! I could not put it down. Others complain that the ending was weak, but I found it fairly typical of books such as this one(filled with lots of action, suspense, and plot twists). People say the same thing about John Grisham's novels ( weak ending). However, as a reader of all of Grisham's books, I must say, THE BIG PICTURE really stands out, in a sea of books that all seem to run together lately.(sorry John) I just cannot say enough good things about this book. I can't believe it has not been made into a movie yet. It would be great. My husband, who hates to read, recently listened to it on tape while traveling. He loved it too. He talked about it non-stop when he returned. I am still hoping for a movie, but until then, I may just read it again. It really is THAT good.

Summary: This book was fabulous!!!
Review: I first read "The Big Picture" in the summer of 1998. I had just graduated from college and was trying to figure out what to do with my life. After reading this book, I realized that having lots of money and a big house did not bring happiness, and now I am pursuing a career in creative writing instead of journalism (which is okay, just not what I want to do). I loved the way the central character cared for his kids and I was sad when he had to leave them after killing that slimeball. I personally didn't think his wife was good enough for him. She's the one who should have had the ulcers. The ending was sorta lame. I mean if I found out that the guy I married had had a whole different life and identity, I'd be leery about welcoming him into my home again. I also liked the way this book made the reader think about what was truly important, which is doing what you love instead what you think is acceptable in the eyes of others. I recommend this book to anyone who feels trapped in a dead-end job.

Summary: rates at the very top of my personal "page-turner" list
Review: More pretentious sorts might find fault with Kennedy's writing style; it admittedly lacks the flair or polish of e.g., a Thomas Harris or Anne Rice....But, there are no wasted paragraphs in this fast-moving, brilliantly crafted story....I found it absolutely riveting....some of its more poignant twists forced me to catch my breath, leaving me pondering what I would do if I found myself in Ben Bradford's shoes. Take this one to the beach, on an airplane, or anywhere else where accounting for your time is optional.

Summary: What a killer read!
Review: I became this character as I read this book. And I couldn't believe the things I found myself doing! Mr. Kennedy has that perfect pitch that makes a character so believable. Just a regular guy, telling of his normal suburban life, until things spin out of control and you find yourself on a roller coaster. For example, he'll perform the most heinous act, and you find yourself going Yeah, that makes sense, that's what I'd do! Also great are the asides about married life, having kids, work, and living in the suburbs. He reminds me of some of David Gates characters, the way they speak perfect logic and sense to me. This book is so much better than 99% of the other stuff laying on the mass market tables... do yourself a favor and take this ride- what a blast!

Summary: Excellent storyline and exploration of morality
Review: An excellent read with a fast flowing thrilling storyline. Youwill find yourself being anxious for the fate of the main character.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Don't start until Saturday morning
Review: The author keeps you close to the edge at all times. Just when you find a break, Ben has stumbled again. If you start the book on Saturday, you have ample time to finish it before the day's out. You won't put it down.

Summary: Audio version
Review: I actually listened to this book on audio, rather than read it, and I truly enjoyed it. The reader, annoying at first, actually turned out to be quite entertaining.

In terms of the story, I thought it had too many twists and turns for its own good. I also couldn't believe that Ben (main protagonist) didn't miss his family (especially his son) that much after leaving for the west.

The ending was extraordinarily weak as mentioned already, but all in all, I was never bored.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Read it in an afternoon!
Review: I haven't done that to a book in a long time...an honest "page-turner", cliche' as that may be.

Summary: Good but,
Review: is there a "new trend" in mistery writing, we find on every page the price of the fancy camera of the hero paid nnnn$ and his wonderful coat from what's his name for 2000$ and so on. It looks more and more like a commercial catalogue. I've personnaly noted this "new trend" in Cornwell's book which I like very much. Nevertheless it's a good book.

Summary: finally a book you won't want to put down
Review: I borrowed this book from a friend and hoped he didn't want it back. I was hooked right from the start and couldn't wait to turn the page. I really got to feel for the main character and pulled for him all the way. The ending was not the greatest but all in all this was a great read. So if you are snowbound and want to be entertained this book is for you!
