Rating: Summary: A Life Changing Exsperience! Review: I was recently visiting Universal Studios Hollywood (my favorite theme park) when I heard about a live taping of a show called Power Living by Jake. I went to the show and during the breaks they played games. I won two games and recieved two books. Power Living by Jake is a book that will motivate you to go beyound your comfort level and be the best you can be!
Rating: Summary: INSPIRATIONAL -- Pumped My Mind Review: Jake Steinfield, exercise guru to the stars, has muscled his way into the motivation field. The result is a strong effort about how to improve your life. Jake gives healthy advice backed up by his own personal experiences. It's down-to-earth and downright interesting. While Jake may have the biggest muscles in Hollywood, this book proves that Jake's best muscle is his brain.
Rating: Summary: It's great if you REALY want to change Review: Practical, no nonsense apporach from the guy who actually makes mistakes and eventually succeeded in life. It is not for someone who just want to lose a few pounds, but for someone who really wants to change his life for the better and keep doing it forever.
Rating: Summary: Some good ideas and stories that will inspire you Review: Read POWER LIVING: ELEVEN LESSONS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE by Jake Steinfeld and enjoyed it.He truly knows how to turn obstacles into triumphs because he's been there. A one-time "fat kid with a stutter" from Long Island, he preferred his Twinkies to the weights his father bought him until, as a teen, he began working out and tapped into an area of his imagination that gave him a vision of what he could achieve. In this inspiring book, he shares his life-changing lessons on success. There's nothing earth-shattering, here, but I did find some good ideas and stories . . . also, I liked Jake's easygoing approach . . . although I have heard most of the lessons (or variations of them) before, I still liked the book--and the positive approach it took. To quote Steinfeld: "It is important for you to note right now that what has happened to you in the past or even the circumstances that exist for you right now no longer matter. From this point on, the quality of your life will change for the better minute by minute, page by page, as you follow the lessons in this book." And, in particular, the following passage made a lot of sense to me: "I have a friend who attended one of those race-car driver's schools and they had a session on what to do when your car is spinning toward the retaining wall on the track. The instructor told him that the biggest mistake drivers make when their car goes into a spin is to look at the wall, because people unconsciously tend to steer where they are looking. Over and over they practiced looking away from the wall in order to regain control and to steer away from disaster. The wall represents failure, and if you focus on failure, you will fail. But if you look away from failure, you can focus instead on doing what you need to do to steer toward success."

Rating: Summary: More Pop Psycho-Bable, blah blah Review: Sorry Jake, no dice, just alot of hype about I can do it, etc. While I have made some lifestyle changes I want to make, I have more to go, and this didn't help, I still am no more motivated to lose the 10 pounds than when I started your book.
