Review: If you like wild life this book has your name on it. The main characters are Tome, (the boy) Uncle Fred, and the fox. His uncle Fred wants to kill the fox because the fox is killing thier chickens.

The author Besty Byars does a splended job of putting details in to explain the story clearly. The illastrator Ed Marinex draws very good pictures.

I give this book 4 stars because they didn't really do a good job explaining what the characters look liked, but they did give lots of details.

If you want to know more about this book get it at you local library and ask for The Midnight Fox.

Review: In the book, The Midnight Fox, There are four main characters.Their names are, Tom, the black fox, Aunt Millie, and lastly UncleFred. Tom, a 10 year old boy, goes for the summer to his Aunt Millie's farm. He discovers a fascinating black fox while he reads letters from his best friend under a tree, in the orchard. He watches the black fox queitly without moving under a tree, in the orchard throughout the summer. Tom goes to the farm because his parents want to go to Europe without him. Tom's parents send him away to the farm, until they get back from Europe. The book has a few pros and cons of th story. It is a good book because it is about a fox, and I love reading about animals. It puts you in suspense, and gets more interesting by the page. However, the only bad thing is that u dont know what happens to the black fox when she leaves the farm for good. I think since the story is mainly about the black fox, the author should say where the fox goes, and what she does. There are a few pros and cons of the story that has to do with the way the story is written. Firstly, the story has nice short chapters which is a great thing. It is good because if the chapters were really long, people would get bored of the book. Secondly, the book is also very well written. It is good because the printing is very big and that makes the book much easier to read. For some people, it is a bad thing but for me that is good. Lastly, the narrator is the main character in the book and I like that because I can learn more about that person. However, a con of the writing is that there are many confusing passages with information that needs to be inferred.

Review: midnight fox Tom lives in the city and he's not looking forward to spending the summer holidays on his uncles farm.However he learns how to love the farm when he finds a black fox living in the woods.But his uncle fred wants to kill the fox and tom is determined to help save her because he loves her the boy don't know want her name is.Tom said to his uncle "your not killing her" "shut up"said his uncle. thats my favorite bit because they get into a proper conversation finally he gives in tom gets his own way. i enjoy reading reading the midnight fox it was great i could read it over and over again.

Summary: Total Cool
Review: The main character, Tom, has a bleak outlook on everything. He won't try new things and if he didn't like something when he was tiny, he is convinced that he won't now. This is until he is sent away to his aunt and uncle's farm and, one little fox changes his whole outlook on life. It is a great book and I recomend it to 9-13+ year olds as below 9, I don't think they would understand the meaning. Overall, great book.

Review: The story is about a boy who has to stay at a farm for a whole summer. At first he thinks its the worst thing that's ever happened to him, but close before he leaves, he wants to stay longer. He wants to stay longer because of the little black fox that he sees alot.The reason I've chosen this story is because the boy reminds me of me.So I advise you to read "The Midnight Fox."

Summary: one of the best childrens books
Review: This book has it all; an interesting plot, interesting characters and children can really relate to the characters. I read this book for the first time when i was seven and it captivated me then and still does now.

Tom lives in the city but when his parents go oin holiday and leave him spending the summer with his uncle on a farm he isn't happy. Soon he finds a Black Fox and learns to like it there. When his uncle finds out he wants to kill the fox and Tom is determined to stop that.

Through the book the characters grow and develop true sense of self. Perfect for children!!!!

Summary: A nice story, told wonderfully and described beautifully
Review: This is a wonderful story of a young city boy who learns something about nature, and himself, during one summer on a farm. All of the descriptions in the book are excellent, especially Tom's first encounter with the fox and the climax. I read this book for a Children's Literature class I'm taking for my teaching degree, and I will definitely have it in my own classroom library.

Review: Tom goes to his uncles house and the fox is killing the chickens so Tom and hsi uncle went to kill the fox. The authur Betsy Byars dose a bad job expressing Tom. She dose a good job telling about the other characters. Like uncle Fred, Happ, and Hazeline. The authur dose a good job describing the setting by telling about the surroudings and the house.
We thinkk it's a good book. We think people should buy it. It's a really good book.
