Summary: Her heart's not quite in it
Review: I love Amanda Quick and I think she is one of the best writers of Regency romances, but this was not one of her stronger novels. It is entertaining, as all of her novels are, but her heart just is not in this one. It feels formulaic, like the characters and plot were fitted to your typical romance template. Almost as if she was just trying to get this one done in order to write something else. I recently reread her novel Deception and Mistress just doesn't compare to that one. I don't think you will be disappointed, Quick is always a good read, but it is not her best work.

Summary: Wonderful Beyond Words!
Review: I loved this book to bits! With every Amanda Quick book I read, I get more and more amazed at her creativity, but Mistriss is the most creative book I think I have ever read. If I could, I would have given it a million stars. Oddly enough, that line fits in perfectly with the book...

Iphiginia Bright's aunt is getting blackmailed. He knows a nasty secret from Aunt Zoe's past and threaten's to kill her like he has done with the missing Earl of Masters. Iphiginia is determined to find out who the blackmailer is, so she decides to play the part of Masters's mistriss so that she can get to know people in Society. Besides, Masters is supposed to be dead. But, the world stops spinning for Iphiginia when Masters stepps into a glittering ballroom one night. It turns out that he was only staying in his country house. He is intrigued and flattered by Iphiginia's deception and agrees to go a long with her scheme. Little does Masters know that Iphiginia has been in love with him ever since she has gathered information enough to play his mistriss. And Masters is starting to fall for Iphiginia and the part of mistriss is starting not to be a game. And, the blackmailer's threats hit closer to home. Will Masters and Iphiginia find out who it is before it's too late?

Marcus (Masters) is my favorite hero of all time. Of course that usually changes each month, but I think I will love him for a very long time. The rules that he lived by were often infuriating, but that's what made him so lovable. You can see that he and Iphiginia are meant for each other and you want to go in to the book and throw his rules into the fire so that he can realize it too. Also, he said the most heartmelting things to Iphiginia. When he told her, "You were born to walk in starlight," I almost died! Goodness I wish I had a guy like that! Iphiginia was an extremly lovely character to read about, and it was a wonderful experience to do so. The fact that she dressed in white all the time was really clever and a nice change from the usual Quick herione dresses which are bright. Although that is nice, I really loved the change. The name Lady Starlight really suited Iphiginia. All of Iphiginia's moves in Society really played with the imagination and it was very ingenius. All in all, this book is spectacular and shines as bright as the stars.

Summary: GREAT, WONDERFUL, LOVELY ....etc
Review: I really liked this book, Iphigina is the strongest female charecter I ever read about, the only thing that made me give it 4 stars not 5 is Marcus,,, HE IS SOOOOO WEAK IN FRONT OF HER. I love you Amanda Quick you are the one who made me look at romance from another point of view.

Summary: Iphigenia rides again..
Review: I really liked this book. I adore romances, mostly because I know that justice will be served in the end--oh you know what I mean--they'll get together. It's the pages in between that keep the book moving. These pages were witty, sly, and induced fits of out-loud laughter--the very best kind. Plenty of intruigue and misunderstandings since it would be an historial romance without them, but they're not too stupid to be believed as some are. I Like it alot. I laughed alot. I got teared up (some!). Really nice, easy to read, I wanted to finish it.

Summary: Fascinating Story
Review: Mistress is a delightful story. Amanda Quick once again does a wonderful job of storytelling. The characters and the plot are great.

Iphiginia Bright is a bold young schoolteacher who is masquerading as the mistress of the late Earl of Masters, Marcus Cloud. The only problem is that Marcus is very much alive.

Marcus and Iphiginia meet on the dance floor and she is suitably awed to realize he isn't dead. She explains that her aunt is being blackmailed and that she needs his help. Marcus is a man of science who is impressed with Iphiginia's plan to masquerade as his mistress.

The story moves forward quickly and I could not wait to turn the final page. Mistress is a wonderful story.

Summary: Missthis???
Review: Perhaps I'm burned out on Amanda Quick novels. This stank like bad fish. The characters were carbon coppies of all her previous novels but without all the nice touches. Maybe I am being hard on this book. But I couldn't finish it. after the scene where marcus and that girl meet I was really turned off. The dialogue was just too formal and stiff. Formal maybe good but stiff and strained is not. The characters were boring and I had the been there done that feeling all while I read it. I found myself skipping all discription and just reading the dialogue because the pace was so slow. But the dialogue was no better. Finally I (...) cut to the chase. Only there was no chase. Just more of the same pointless mindless dialogue.

I usually like Amanda Quick. Sometimes her stories really hit the spot. Not this one. It was a wall banger. Did I mention the whole premis is weak? I just couldn't suspend disbelief for this one. So I tossed it for a julie garwood.

Like I said Mistress? Miss this!!
