Rating: Summary: WOW Review: This is absolutely the best novel I've ever read! The plot is so thick and so capturing. You have to read it to believe it!
Rating: Summary: Hunter hits bullseye almost dead-center Review: A slam-bang, jaw-dropping adventure. With two of the more sympathetic heroes in the genre, Hunter tells a gripping tale of a sophistacated frame-up that disgraces a bonafide hero and advances the agenda of a shadowy paramilitary organization. Hunter also plays on the popular stereotypes of hunters and Veitnam veterans, mocking the political corectness that the bad guys use against our hero. He only misses on the portrayal of the budding romances in the novel, and the dialogue of the Southerners. I am from the south, and neither I nor anyone that I know uses the word "damn" in every single sentence.
Rating: Summary: Bob Lee Swagger takes you on a fantastic ride. Great ending. Review: Stephen Hunter has become one of my favorite fictional authors. While there may be a few technical shortsights, he convinces me that he likes the subject matter and enjoys what he is writing. THIS IS THE BEST NOVEL OF ITS KIND I HAVE EVER READ. I read it over three years ago, then again last year, and I may read it again. Bob Lee Swagger is an interesting character and is actually believable. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who enjoys really good action-adventure novels with some real meat in them. I sincerely hope Mr. Hunter turns out some more like this trilogy. This is definitely, "the right stuff".
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: Terrific thriller. Contains some real plot twists. I couldn't put it down and I've read it several times now. Mr. Hunter did his homework and the technical errors are few and minor.
Rating: Summary: Non-stop Action Review: This is an excellent non-stop action thriller. I found this book hard to put down. This was the first book of many I have read and no one compares to it yet
Rating: Summary: A SLAM BAM SHOOT I'M UP THRILLER. Review: This authour is one of the best I've read. I just finished reading point of impact and it was great. From the first page to the gut wrinching climax hunter pulls you in and never ever lets you go. The single name bob lee swagger sends shivers up my spine. I dont know any thing about ballistics and I still enjoyed it. I'm reading dirty white boys now [the second one in the trilogy} and I can tell you mr hunter I'm quite impressed.GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A gripping "from the word GO" read. Review: The problem with this book is that so many others pale in comparison. This is definitely Hunter's best, which is saying a lot. From the opening pages you are drawn in. Bob "the Nailer" is one great character. The supporting cast is also well written. Clancy gets all the press, but he can't touch Hunter when it comes to character development and literary momentum
Rating: Summary: "Bob the Nailer" hammers at your imagination from page one! Review: Stephen Hunter is a name Hollywood should have it's eager hands on. "Point of Impact" dazzles the intellect with a superb plot leaving one continually wondering "what's going to happen next" and leaving one amazed at the outcomes! At the same time, his characters are fantastically weaved such that one could place "Bob the Nailer" up with Paul Bunyan, Davy Crocket, and Judge Roy Bean. Imagine if you will, the movie "In the Line of Fire" by Clint Eastwood, and then imagine a story a hundred times more exciting and a hundred times more imaginative. That is about as close as can be compared in film to the enthralling and adventurous book by Hunter, "Point of Impact". So few books nowadays can authentically grab our attentions from the first page, hold our rapt attention, and piledrive us through to the last page with sheer exaltation and hunger like "Point of Impact"! This book among few in fiction is a true testament to "researching your topic" and pure, God-given story-tellin' talent! Stephen Hunter and his writings have taken me to Heaven and back with the sheer caliber of his plots, characters, and writing style. This book will earn a special place on the shelf in your den. This is the book that you will warn your friends not to crease the pages or the binding of. You'll treasure this read as you open to the first page again and again, perhaps smelling the book as you fan the book's edges. I guarantee you'll close this book a far different person than when you began it! Sean Goodwin

I stayed until the end and then started to read it all over again becuse I could not believe the way that he showed them up. The moral is " Don't mess with Bob Lee or his dog".
