Rating: Summary: Character Review: Marlfox Brian Jacques K. Shimoda P1 Marlfox is a very interesting and different b type of book. This classic by Brian Jacques, was the most unusual to me since his other Redwall books. In this book the Marlfox, there is a young squirrel that lives in a beautiful town, when the marlfoxes aren't around. These marlfoxes steal and take for themselves, they move in groups, and they could be close to invisible with their blending in colors. These foxes are so stealth and sly, that you would never know they were there. The marlfoxes have powerful weapons and quick striking attacks to be feared anywhere. One day, the marlfoxes stole a tapestry of the legendary Martin the warrior from the abbey. This tapestry to the abbey was priceless; so four young warriors went on a mission to retrieve it. The hero's names were Dann, Song, Dippler, and Burble. These four heroes encounter danger, and make new friends as well on their journey to find the tapestry. This book was very enjoyable to read. All the different characters had their each and different personalities. Each marlfox, shrew, mouse, otter, squirrel, and other woodland creature had it's own little creative trait. My favorite character of this book was a marlfox named Mokkan. Mokkan becomes the captain of the marlfoxes at the end of the book, and he is the last marlfox to survive. A chunk of Marlfoxes just died over time. Mokkan survives the last because he is the most slick, strong, and cunning out of all the marlfoxes. Mokkan's personality is very leader like and cocky. "Now he was a proper Marlfox once more, and everybeast knew that Marlfoxes were magic, invisible!"Pg 344 Mokkan wants to think himself as the master of his tribe. Mokkan the marlfox isn't the only reason why I enjoy reading this book. I also really enjoy this book because of the description of the words. The author is very descriptive when he talks about the clothes and weapons of the warriors. When the characters are dinning, the food just jumps out at you, there are just smells of aroma everywhere. They're always eating honey flavored scones or a fruit dumpling. ""Any more o' that stew left, matey?" " My least favorite part of this wonderful book is when Logalog dies. Logalog was in many other books as a general of the woodland creatures. Logalog always fought bravely and courageously. Logalog was in the book Mossflower, Salamandastron, The Long Patrol, and some other books. Logalog was always in some part where he was helping to fight off armies, or give directions to the lost. Marlfox is a wonderful book to read, I would recommend it to any young reader looking for adventure.
Rating: Summary: Mysterious Foxes Review: It is amazing how the author comes up with the heros and villians - the Marlfoxes in this story are really evil. Again good triumphs over evil.

Rating: Summary: Mysterious, exciting...creepy... Review: Marlfox is one of the most mysterious books in the whole Redwall series, and I really like this book! This book is about two squirrels who are still very young; their names are Dann and Song. The Marlfoxes had stolen their Abbey's most precious thing-the tapestry of the Redwall Abbey's savior, Martin the Warrior. Dann's father, a tough warrior, gets angry at Dann for not fighting back. Dann and Song make up their mind to get back the tapestry, then go away from the Abbey. They meet other two creatures on their way...Dippler the shrew and Burble the water vole. Now, you must be wondering what IS Marlfoxes. Marlfoxes are foxes with black/gray skin, and they can disappear like magic. They appeared first to Song's father, a 'looks-lazy' but smart squirrel warrior just like Dann's father. Then they appeared to a band of 'circus' players. Marlfoxes appear and go...they come and disappear...they bring danger with them...they are cruel...would the woodlanders destroy them all? I really like this book, and I think that if you get this book, you'll LOVE this book and wouldn't want to stop reading!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, magical book Review: This is a great book for anyone waiting for the next Harry Potter book. Marlfox is like Harry Potter with just a bit less magic and with, well, animals instead of people. Exciting, amazing, and suspenseful, are the perfect words to discribe this book. When magical foxes (Marlfoxes) who can disapper and reapper steal from the Redwall Abbey, it's up to a band of four unlikly friends to retrive and return the Abbey's prize possesion: the taprestry of Martain the Warrior. All of the creatures in Redwall have there strenths and weaknesses, and I'm sure you can relate to (at least) one of them. This is my favorite Redwall book other than The Outcast of Redwall.
Rating: Summary: Knock Knock, Book world... Anyone Home? Review: I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to read this or any of the other Redwall books. Other books you read. With these, you close your eyes and you're there. With his eleventh, Jacques follows the exploits of the Redwall abbeyfolk, of course, along with a Noonvale Acting Squad and the Guosim (Guerilla Union of Shrews in Mossflower) to stop a gang of murderous, "magical" foxes. Three young ones take the stand- Dannflor, a warrior squirrel's son with an unforgiving father, Songbreeze, a warrior squirrel's daughter, and Dippler, a shrew who's looking for redemption after snoozing on the job and getting the shrew longboats stolen. Later, a fourth joins their journey- Burble, a talkative water vole. If you haven't discovered these books yet, wake up and smell the woodlands!!
Rating: Summary: What an imaginative mind! Review: The names are strange and the world is wide but that didn't stop Song, Dann, and dippler from their quest to regain the heart of redwall, a tapestry which lies Martin the warrior. Their adventures leads them from a hedgehog names Soll to a female hedgehog names Talboot (its close). As they go from home to watervole, to the river, to the Island of the evil Queen Silth. Full of adventure and good for anyone who likes their mind to go on an imaginative journey through an imaginary world.
