Summary: Stupendous! One of the best Redwall books yet!
Review: There are eight marlfoxes living in the island in the middle of the large inland lake mentioned in Salamandastron. Six of them leave the island in search of treasures, and they come upon Redwall Abbey. It is said that Marlfoxes and vanish like the wind, and are magical. They come upon the abbey, and when one of the marlfoxes gets killed, it means war. The tapestry of Martin the Warrior gets stolen, so some young warriors set out in search of it. This book is a tale of adventure, of young creatures going out against the odds. Of courage, bravery, and friendship. It's a must for all Redwall lovers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great book filled with danger and the mysterious Marlfoxes
Review: It all starts three young travellers with their destinies fated to come together chase after the cunning and evil Marlfoxes who havestolen the precious tapestry of Martin the Warrior. They meet with many friends and have grand adventures on the way, but back at Redwall there is trouble several other Marlfoxes are attacking the abbey in revenge for a death of a sibling by an abbeydweller. The entire story is put together with Jacques' usual blend of humorous characters, starnge riddles and grand feasts. This story though seems strangely hollow and lacks Jacques' usual charm and grace of writing. Though it isn't the best it is highly worth reading and definitely a must for Redwall fans like myself.

Summary: Ghender12's review on Marlfox
Review: I really liked the book Marlfox, as well as all the other books in the Redwall series. This book takes place in Redwall Abbey and the Mossflower Woods. As for the time of this book I can't really tell because in this book there are no humans, just animals (mainly mice and foxes) who take the place of humans.
In this book a gang of extremely clever foxes tries to take over Redwall Abbey. Originally the Marlfoxes just stole Redwall's prized tapestry but in defense, Redwall starts a war with the Marlfoxes. In the war, both Marlfox and Redwall have to fight hard to win. Four young main characters: Songbreeze, Dippler, Burble, and Dannflor, leave during the heat of war to hunt down a Marlfox deserter who stole the tapestry from his comrades. The four unlikely heroes chase the Marlfox all the way to Castle Marl-home of the marlfoxes. On their way to castle marl they meet many long lost relatives and their adopted sons and daughters. All of them had bad business with the marlfoxes. Together they defeated the marlfoxes at Castle Marl and reclaimed their prized tapestry. Meanwhile back at Redwall Abbey, the good creatures of Redwall successfully defeated the Marlfoxes as well.
Marlfox was one of my favorite books of all time-as were most of the other books in the Redwall series. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes books about war, personification (animal given human traits), and adventures.
