Rating: Summary: Win With This Book Review: Just like Judy, this book is a winner. I can't believe that Judy opened up her life like that. To show the wounds and how they healed. I loved the fact that so many photos were included. It is great to have a role model that does not looking like a pencil. This book touched on all aspects of getting healthy and getting fit. I loved all the inspirational quotes and stories. It was great reading the stories of other people on striving to reach their goals also. I admit I am President of the Judy Fan Club. LOL. I saw JUdy for the first time on the Rosie Show and cried when "This is My Moment" was Sung to her". She deserve all the accolades. She has helped so many with this book and by opening her heart to all. Judy has helped me so much. I will be attempting to do a marathon my self this year for the very first time thanks to the motavation of this book and Judy's guidance. This book is sure to be a best seller. If any of you have any doubts about yourself and your ablilities to do what you dream.. this book will help you. It is a very easy read lots of great information and yet speaks to the heart.
Rating: Summary: You Don't Have To Be Thin To Win Review: REading this book I felt like I was reading about someone who had been there, done that and truly knew how I was feeling each time I tried and felt defeated. Judy helped me to see that no matter where I was today with my weight and health that I too could be a winner. At 55 I felt for the first time, I can walk one step at a time until I could run, yes, I can be a winner no matter what size I am. Thank you Judy the book is a Winner and an inspiration to all.
Rating: Summary: If you want to WIN, read Judy's Book Review: Reading this book was a Godsend for me. As I was reading Judy's words,I thought she was writing about me. In fact she was writing about me.Her words spoke to me and it made me feel as if the burdens of weight loss, being unhealthy were things that I could confront and deal with. As I got further into the book, I realized that making the change in my life begins with me, but more than that. It begins with a belief and a faith that I can do it! And I have done it, and I'm still doing it. I've gone from 288 pounds to 225. And let me tell you, the freedom that comes with taking pride in yourself, in your body, in you is awesome. This book does not talk down to you, it does not lecture you nor does it make you feel as if going for the gold is a difficult and unattainable goal. In fact, it makes you want to put the book down, go out there and begin the journey to a healthy life. I hope everyone has the opportunity to read this book and know that it can make a major difference in your life. It's not about being thin and appealing for the outside world. It's about getting healthy and being the best that you can be. For yourself....and that's what this book is all about... If you read it, I promise you, you'll be a winner in no time. Thanks Ms. Molnar for a great, and positive book. Please please please.. do a sequel... I await for it anxiously.
Rating: Summary: Motivational! Review: The author is certainly an inspiration and a role model. I absolutely love how she promotes simply moving your body despite your size. In this thin-obsessed society, it is incredible to find somebody who promotes health over thinness. That alone is worth the price of the book and worth keeping it on your shelf after you're done reading it. How we women HATE our bodies. How USELESS is that emotion. Molnar is telling us something wonderful, not new maybe, but wonderful -- love what you got and do all you can with it.For somebody like me who is overweight, middleaged , and has a few chronic but not horrible health issues, it was absolutely motivational to read about this. If I want to dance my heart out or run a marathon or run around with my dogs, the only person really stopping myself is me. Molnar's common sense solutions to some of her own issues plus her allowing herself to be important enough to have coaches and trainers helped me to realize that any obstacle I may encounter can be addressed. My big criticism with this book is that the author WAS a lifelong athlete before her weight gain. So returning to hard exercise may have been a challenge but it was also something she had a real passion for under all that weight. For a born and bred couch potato who would rather read than walk ANYWHERE, I had trouble identifying with her reawakening. In addition, Molnar is still very young and her advice is really geared to 20 or 30 somethings. Us middleaged folk are sort of left in the dust. For those reasons, I wasn't overjoyed with this book. But kudos to the author. You go girl!

Rating: Summary: Very Motivational Review: This audiobook gets 5 stars for Motivation - but overall 4 stars because I think Judy's experience as a teen and college student was so sports oriented that I found it hard to relate at times. Not everyone will want to run a triatholon, but her words and her wonderful reading style make me want to get out and move more. It should be noted that this audiobook is NOT ABRIDGED as is written here on Amazon. I've listened to the whole audiobook twice now and I am excited because there are certain sections I've written down for whenever I am in need of a quick pep talk. Her methods are sound and right to the point. Get with a nutritionist and understand HOW to eat correctly. Get into a wellness group for support and sharing. Get more active by walking, running, swimming - whatever you can do. She makes you feel like you can do it as long as you stay consistent and always keep looking forward to a goal. One main thing I've learned is that I should not put my goal in terms of weight only and say "By next Labor Day I will weigh X"... instead, I should say by the end of this month I will be walking 2 miles three times a week. I never thought of walking or running in a 5K (3.1 miles) event.... but why not? Why not put some time toward a good cause like "Race for the Cure" and breast cancer research. I just never grew up with any sports type goals. Her eating plan is lowfat - high carb. I think that one plan does not fit all, but that would be up to each individual and their doctor. She does however make good suggestions to reduce fats, reduce sugars etc. and she warns that there are no quick fix diet plans - you need to work hard. I am off to purchase a good pair of walking shoes... my first step toward getting healthy and changing my life!
Rating: Summary: What a motivational book. Review: This book had all the ingredients for success: A charismatic author, an inspiring story, and a good message of self-acceptance and achievement. However, the author just couldn't seem to put it together into a coherent, readable book. Judy's story and the success stories she sprinkles throughout the text are inspiring, but she fails to put together a solid, easy-to-follow plan for the fitness novice to follow. Most of the book just falls flat, like the section that lists the kinds of food available in each aisle of the grocery store. I skimmed through the book in about 20 minutes, so I wouldn't recommend buying it.

This book has taken over a year to write. Judy began this effort when did not finish her first Hawaii Ironman. She talks about all her dreams and her failures. It is a shame that this book went to press before the 99 Hawaiin Ironman.. Yes she finished.. That was her goal to finish.. and she did it, it does not matter what place she came in what her time was.. she was fast enough to meet the time critera that was set..She never entered the race to win over everyone else.. she did it to win the battle with herself. She did that.Way to Go Judy. This book is not about winning marathons.. this book is about winning at life. The pictures included in the book are also great. Judy has the guts to put the pictures in there so you actually see the metamorphis over the time. She is still not a twiggy.. Judy is now an average sized woman.. She is someone that we can all relate to she is not shaped like a lollipop telling us to all get fit. She overcame her depression about her weight to overcome all and become a winner at life. Anyone that is having trouble with motavation will be inspired by her comon sense apprach. I have been lucky enough to be inspired by this courageous woman.. and yes I call her courageous.. It takes gut to get out there and put your entire life on the line to help others. This book is about overall health..not just losing weight. The resources listed in the back of the book are a definate plus. They help you gain a lot of valuable information. So this book is also a great reference source. I find the stories tht Judy included about others equally moving. How like Judy to include these touching stories to help motavate us. They are winning at life too!
