Review: Excellent book could not put it down. The author does an great job with a fast pace and keeping the people 'real'. The book will make you think about what the government can do, has done, and will do. One of the best 'spy' and 'cold war' books I have ever read.

Review: The editorial at the top of this page summarizes the book well. I can rewrite that, or I can tell you how it consumed me from cover to cover. I worked in a bookstore when a customer started talking to a fellow employee about The Charm School. He was an older gentleman who was retired from the CIA. He talked about how frighteningly realistic the book was. When he left he said, "It could happen." I was now even more curious about this book, which had been a great seller, so I picked it up. I then couldn't set it down! I haven't been able to find a book since that I wanted to read at lunch, at red traffic lights, while walking, etc... As I was nearing the end, I would only read a page or two a day because I didn't want it to end. However, even up to the very end, I was stunned by what was happening. This is Nelson Demille's finest book!

Review: I found the book extremely interesting with some thought provoking plots throughout. The characters were well thought out and presented and they had a sense of realness that kept me coming back for more. I had a difficult time putting it down and all the way through I was finding myself wondering if this could be possible. Really had me wondering!

Summary: HEART STOPPING! NERVE WRECKING! EXCELLENT SPY NOVEL!
Review: Excellent story! It shows the very heart & soul of all the characters --- gives an insight to their thoughts & beliefs. Although I will never understand thematrix of a CIA or KGB agents' mind, nevertheless, I believe they live upto their ideology (better or worse) & that there's good in everyone. I also liked the author's manner of injecting humor in an intense scene. It makes the story & the characters more real. The "Charm School" may not be real in life but espionage is among rival countries. My heart goes to all those innocent victims trapped in the middle, forgotten (intentionally) by the people whom they have served & loved simply for political/personal reasons.

Review: Okay ...I think I have a problem...I've read this book four times, and comtemplating doing so again. Love it! Loveit,loveit,loveit,loveit ...all my friends love it ...cannot overstate how much I love reading this book (Word of Honor is great too). Do yourself a favor ...ENJOY!!!

Review: This is the book that turned me on to reading. After reading hundreds of books in college, I never read for pleasure. This book was given to me and I have been an avid reader ever since. I have read all of DeMille's work but this book remains my favorite.

Review: Extremely interesting learning about the KGB and life in Russia during the cold war. Very gripping, just couldn't put it down until I had reached the end.

Review: I started reading and I got so involved I got to work late, went to bed late and refused to do anything until I finished. The last few chapters I actually was in a sweat. This is the real thing. This guy can write. What a treat. REad his others and you will be equally rewarded.

Review: The three main characters are all superbly developed throughout the book. It just keeps on getting better as the action hots up and the plot becomes all the more complex. Leaves you with many questions about how the Cold War was really conducted between these two superpowers .....
