Bech at Bay and Before : Three Bech Novels

Review: Not all of the Beck novellas are great, but they all lend themselves well to audio cassette due to Updike's simple, precise, colorful language. His main character, here, is sort of a Philip Roth take-off, and Roth does the job much better. I give this a moderate recommendation, but I give Roth an absolute recommendation.
