Summary: Characterization of Heaven
Review: I wanted to review this book because it is probably my favorite Christian book. I am a Christian, but I read almost a hundred percent secular books because most of the Christian stuff just isn't good enough, but this book is another one of the huge exceptions. Don't let the other reviews confuse you. This is not really that much about Jesus' blood, but about inner conflict. I don't want to spoil the story line so I will leave it at that. The highest point of this book is Characterization. The characters felt so real I it was like they were really alive, and I was watching their drama. This is an excellent book. I would recommend it even if you are of the secular audience.

Summary: Great Plot But Weighed Down With Research Data ...
Review: I'm a BIG fan of Michael Crichton and John Grisham, as well as Frank Peretti. So when I first read this book's title, I was intrigued. The story moved well, I thought, and the plot line fantastic (imagine the blood of Jesus Christ coarsing through your veins!!), but the research Mr. Myers had to do for the book weighed down the story with all the details he put in. It's the kind of mistake that your English teacher told you in school when a writing assingment was due: too many specifics tend to bog down your story. this was the case with Blood of Heaven. It also seemed to me to have been unresolved at the end. I wasn't sure if Myers wanted his readers to leave with the impression of a seuqel. The main character came off as a wimp before the geneticist, Murkowski, and overall, the book was on the negative side. Otherwise, great plot, though.

Summary: A thriller
Review: This book is pretty good---not stupdendous, but not bad either. Although it is billed as Christian fiction, compared with other Christian fiction books, there is not much of the spiritual aspect--bible verses, etc. This is Christian on the idea of WHO we are, and how our better nature can be brought out.

The idea of a blood/DNA transfer to bring about genetic engineering is pretty current; although I will agree with another reviewer that at times the technical aspects of the book were just too heavy. And it's hard to write a book with a lot of technology in it because it is dated so quickly.

The characters were pretty well written. I loved the baboon, Freddy; and thought that Katherine's trials were well written and believeable.

I would recommend this book.

Summary: Very good ending
Review: This reminds me of the Jeckyl and Hyde syndrome that believers go through.

Summary: Superlative...Profound...Powerful!!!
Review: This was my first journey into the world of Bill Myers, and I can't say enough about how compelling a journey it was!! I was glued to this book and literally couldn't put it down. Oh, sure, there were those times I had to fight myself not to pick it up..you know, like at work, on the road, wherever I could find a spare minute.

Myers writes with incredible power and conviction, and you come to really care for his characters, and in particular Michael Coleman, who doesn't convince easily, but takes a chance by having the blood of Christ put into his own bloodstream and genetic make-up, thus altering the way he views the world and people. Of course there are the villains, and you actually care for them as well. Then there's Katherine Lyon, his sponsor, who he ultimately discovers was one of his victim's spouses, and the story blows you away!!

I've been in the criminal justice system for over 20 years, and I could completely relate to this vicious killer - Michael Coleman - and Myers description of his profound change almost brought tears to my eyes and softness to my heart. There are other subplots as well, but I won't spoil it for you.

This book is relatively inexpensive on Amazon, so you can pick it up without breaking your pocketbook. If you want inspiring, this is it. If you want powerful, riveting, and the rest, this is it!! Five stars can only minimize what I'd like to give it - how about 20 stars!!

Summary: The Last Word on Blood of Heaven
Review: Well now, let me say that this was an excellent book but of course, it's not for everyone... I'll start off with the negative comments first. If you are looking for a book with tons of spiritual depth and truth, you'll read this book and probally scream, "HERESY!" It was extremely far-fetched as far as Christianity goes. I go as far to say that it was pretty secular. Therefore, if you're the type of person who would get offended at a little symbolism and scientific views, just think to yourself, "It's only fiction." In spite of the above written, I absolutely loved the book. It was one of those books that rarely ever had a dry moment. I could not put the book down. There is a lot of scientific "stuff" in there but they explain it to where it's easy to understand. I applaud the way the Myers wrote three different plots then intertwined them. So what else can I say? The book was completely clean. You could read it without having to worry about language or adult themes. It wasn't offensive, but I'm sure that someone out there would think of it as too extreme and write bitter letters to Bill Myers. If I had to sum up the book in one sentence, I would say that is action packed, science based book with a Christian flavor in it. This my friends, is what you call a review from a college student that is having a hard time putting it into words. Oh well, better luck next review. :)
