Summary: PUT THE DEVIL IN PROPER PERSPECTIVE
Review: Our accurate perception of God is critical to our relationship with Him. Likewise, if you know what God says about you and who you are then you need to know what the Devil will do to taint, or rather, destroy your relationship with the Almighty God. So, READ THIS BOOK. Find out what the Devil has in mind when you watch TV even though you feel a tug in your spirit to turn it off and go read the Bible. What does he want to achieve when you want to share the gospel with someone but don't because you reason that they are not yet ready or you don't want to come across as pushy. How does he twist your mind by controlling your language? Read this book and understand why the devil hates when we worship - truly worship. Are you soldier in God's army? If yes, read this book and be even more prepared to fight the battle.

Summary: thank you Mr. Alcorn
Review: This was the only book I have ever read that actually made me weep when I finished reading it. The only book I ever read that made me fall to my knees and pray and the only book I ever read that made me desire to dig deep into the Bible, put on the full armor of God and humble myself in repentance.

Inspired by C.S Lewis and influenced by Spurgeon, Edwards, Packer, Piper and Colson...you have to read this book.

Summary: Want to change your life? Read this book!
Review: This book is loaded. If you are looking for a great fiction read, this is it. If you are looking for a book that will change the way you look at life, this is it. If you are looking for a fresh perspective on the Christian walk this book is what you are looking for.

Having never read The Screwtape Letters, by C.S.Lewis, I was not sure what to expect. I was very surprised by the depth of this book. I plan to go back through and study each chapter, take notes, then sit down with my Bible and do some serious studying. I believe that most of todays hot Christian issues have been covered in a very interesting way. This book will no doubt challenge the way you look at everything.

If you enjoy books by Frank Peretti and Bill Myers, you will like this book. In fact, if those tend to be a bit over the top for you, try this book. I will be buying extra copies of this book to give out to my unsaved friends.

Summary: Viewing an unseen realm
Review: Of course, pleasing Him should be enough incentive to serve my Lord faithfully, but after reading the latest from Randy Alcorn, fouling up the schemes of the demonic realm is added incentive. In much the same way as the books of Frank Peretti shone a spotlight on the unseen world where true spiritual battle goes on, Alcorn's book has put faces and voices to the ones who seek our destruction. Valuable insight for the saved and the lost.

Summary: Excellent Story
Review: This is one of those stories that can change the way you look at your own every day life. If you allow yourself to really explore the areas of your life which are lacking, you will find yourself many times in this story. I think this book is a must-read for any new Christian wanting to understand how the enemy is still working to distract Christians from their destiny.

Summary: Wonderful book for young and old!
Review: Long a fan of Randy Alcorn, it is always a delight to get hold of a new book - hoping, praying it's as good as those that have gone before. No disappointment here. The subject of real spiritual warfare seems largley underplayed in the Christian world. We must remember what the Bible tells us - we are not in this alone. It is not just God and I walking through this life alone. Demons and angels battle for and against us. This book is an entertaining look at the battle for our souls we cannot see. Quick chapters make it a great read-aloud book for family time devotions, too. BUY IT.

Summary: If I could, I'd give it 10 stars!
Review: I've ready all of Randy Alcorn's books, and have repeatedly gone back to reread "Deadline" and "Dominion" over and over again. He has always written with such authority on the subject of heaven and hell, which tells me that he has great insight into what the Bible says about this subject. "Lord Foulgrin's Letters" was another outstanding work done by an author who has become one of my all-time favorite of Christian authors. His point of view when writing as Lord Foulgrin was sometimes chilling, yet totally believable, and has served as a reminder that the demons only goal is to destroy us and discredit us before God. Although this is a work of fiction, I liked the fact that Mr. Alcorn continually quoted Scripture, in its context, throughout the story, letting us know that Satan and the demons know Scripture too (maybe sometimes better than some of us Christians). I look forward to his next work, and because of his track record, I'm certain it will be captivating and enthralling just like his previous works. Don't ever quit writing, Mr. Alcorn!

Summary: An interesting homage to C S Lewis
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Of course the concept has been "borrowed" from CS Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters". (But the author freely admits this.) But it is a nice tribute to the Screwtape Letters because it is finely written, and engaging. In fact, once I started reading it, I literally could not put it down. I think the real strength of the book is the way that Alcorn shifts settings back and forth from one chapter to the next between the spiritual realm and the material realm. The important theme of this is that the spirit world is as real as the world in which we live, and influences it as well. In a day of scientific materialism, which denies anything spiritual(and this attitude exists in the church, too) Alcorn's book is an important, as well as thought provoking, reminder, that spiritual warfare is real. Thanks Randy, for writing this book.

Summary: And the Beat Goes On
Review: If Mr. C.S. Lewis was still here in his clay earth suit, I believe he would say to Mr. Randy Alcorn, "Very well done, little brother." Randy Alcorn's latest work, Lord Foulgrin's Letters, is excellent. It's been a wake up call to me that the battlefield all around me is as active as ever. I feel it is a must for every Christian. I have gained so much from each of Randy Alcorn's books. Deadline was my first exposure to Mr. Alcorn's literary gift. Then, its sequel Dominion was my good fortune to read. Both were checkouts from the library, but now I am the proud owner of Deadline which I just finished reading for the second time. Would like to reread Dominion also. I am captivated by this wonderful author's descriptions of heaven. Even if they are not totally accurate as none of us will know till we've been there, he has expanded my imagination of heaven and in wonderful hope. God's Word says that eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart (or imagination) of man what He has prepared for those that love Him. In other words, in our wildest, most colorful and creative imagnations, what any of us imagines is just a dim picture compared to the actuality of it. Also, God's Word says we (believers) have the mind of Christ. If this be so (and it must be if He said it), then is it not likely that some inkling of what it is like has come into the mind of our brother, Randy Alcorn. I believe so. Mr. Alcorn, please keep your heart and imagination open to Christ so He can speak to us through your work and ministry. P.S. Edge of Eternity is just a sixstar book.

Summary: An Eye Opening Book!
Review: This book greatly helped my wife and me to see some of the tactics that the enemies of God use to try and distract the lost and children of God. This is a well written book that will open your eyes to the need to realize that Satan and his forces are doing all in their limited power to try and destroy us or our purpose in serving Christ. I challenge and believer and non-believer in Jesus Christ to read this book and take noticed that all though it is fiction it has real non-fiction application!

In Christ, Chuck Gilbert
