Summary: Absolutely inspiring and keeps the reader involved
Review: Montel Williams is the ONLY talk show host that I watch. He addresses real issues and provides help to those that wish to receive it. His book does no less and provides the reader with how he "came to be". With the many issues that we have in the world today, especially those that face our younger generation, Montel has quite a bit to offer. I would recommend reading this book for all ages. There are many helpful ideas he presents that we can implement into our own lives as adults as well as parents who are or will be facing the difficulties today that our teenagers must live through. EXCELLENT reading - I couldn't put the book down!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A worthwhile read, especially for young people.
Review: This book provided a nice insight into Montel Williams, the man. The book was short and uncomplicated, and I read it in two days. Montel and Paisner do a decent job of keeping it simple. The chronology of the book enabled the reader to walk through Montel's life with him. The reader will learn that he is an ordinary man who has done extraordinary things with his life. Readers may even get renewed and set some goals of their own. However, the book does have some cliches` in it. He does a nice job of discussing the ever-present topic of his interracial marriage. After reading this book, I re-committed to some goals of my own. This book is worth a read, while not being very expensive.

Summary: Montel reveals his true, inner self in this work!
Review: When I first saw this book it was on the bargain/clearance rack at the local bookstore. Having seen Montel's wonderful TV show, I decided that I'd buy the book and take it home for immediate reading. I made a big mistake. Instead of finding glimmering little gems of wisdom and insight throughout the pages of the book, I found nothing but a lot of self-congratulatory references to Montel's supposed superior public speaking abilities and his assumptions that he has all of the answers for society's various ills. When I was through reading this book I experienced a feeling that I have never had before -- I wanted to slowly roast his book in my barbecue grill! No other author has ever managed to raise such a truly unpleasant feeling inside of me like this guy has. Before I read the book, I respected and even admired Montel, but after I read it I began to dislike him immensely. Maybe this would have been a better book if Montel had the common courtesy to check his ego at the door and focused on something other than how great he thinks that he is.
