Rating: Summary: Hillary; A sixties Liberal Socialist Tramp further sullied Review: Nothing new in this book. The author is not original or enlightning. Unfortunately this First Lady has fed the insatiable appetite for trash by the media, the far right and attack authors with transparent agenda's. Hillary will go down in American history as one who unabashedly prostituted herself for power. The feminist movement and Democrats would be well advised to distance themselves from (Ms)Clinton. Lets hope that our next First Lady will display the class, dignity and honor of past First Ladies such as Rosalyn Carter, Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush. Joyce Milton, a classical biographer, NOT!!
Rating: Summary: Incredible ! Couldn't put it down ! Review: Saw the author, Joyce Milton, on TV, discussing her book, how it came about, and how she was surprised at the results of her investigation in research for the book. This peaked my interest to read the book. Then I counldn't put it down. It is incredible, the "two faces" of Mrs. Clinton! I think the book is accurate. I find it interesting that the Clinton's haven't responded to it, nor trashed the author. Buy it, read it, be surprised!
Rating: Summary: Well researched compilation of HRC's life and times Review: The Cintonites may have some trouble with ths book, but it is an obviously well-researched and very readable book on one of today's most famous and controversial figures. Her influence on this nation and its President is indeed scary!
Rating: Summary: Well written presentation of facts; non-biased Review: This author is an excellent writer. She also appears to be a fact finder. She draws conclusions from the facts she uncovers. That is not bias, that is assessment. I thought her research into Hillary and Ira Magaziners designs for the education of young kids was particularly revealing. Excellent book.
Rating: Summary: The Kirkus and Booklist reviews above have it right... Review: This book should have been titled "The Dark Side of Hillary Clinton;" that would have been an example of truth-in-labeling. If you dislike Hillary, then by all means buy this book; you'll enjoy it, especially the juicy but unverifiable gossip. If you like to read biographies that are balanced and give you the information, letting you reach your own conclusion, you'll definitely want to skip this one. I'm not an enormous Hillary fan, but I do get annoyed when a biography spends so much time trying to persuade me of something rather than telling me about something. The author may have a lot of things right--Hillary may, for all I know, have many or most of the negative traits and attitudes described--but I find that I'm not willing to take her word for it. There is such a focus on the negative that the author loses credibility in terms of her objectivity. Maybe you don't need to be objective to write a biography (Kitty Kelley leaps to mind), but you do to write one that I find worth my time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book, Finally someone speaks for us Review: This was an excellent book, it showed a lot of hard work and commitment in the writing. Finally someone realizes what kind of garbage heads are country and were supposed to look up to them? For anyone who has the audacity to trash this writer, I would suggest getting your little notepad and pencil and start research and writing you own book and then you can throw your accusations on how poorly a book is researched, until then keep your day job! Great job Joyce!
